About Old Faithful Inn

Old Faithful Inn, a historic hotel built in 1904 out of logs, offers a unique experience with its old-fashioned charm and stunning location near the world's largest geyser. The spectacular lobby features soaring levels of wood terrace and a giant stone fireplace, creating a wonderful place to hang out in the evening with live music and get a drink. The second floor provides a romantic setting with constant music, while the three-story interior courtyard adds to the ambiance.

The attached restaurant is very decent for Yellowstone, offering good buffet-style service for breakfast and dinner. Though expensive, the food is better than other options in the park, but reservations are recommended. There are two types of rooms: charming older log cabin-style rooms, some with shared bathrooms, and standard hotel rooms with private bathrooms. Staying on the east wing offers views of the geyser.

Despite small rooms and common loos, the overall experience is memorable, with opportunities to witness the geyser, enjoy live music, and explore the natural hot springs and buffalo sightings nearby. The cozy atmosphere, live violin music, and friendly service add to the charm. While not a luxury hotel, its historic architecture and prime location make it a must-visit. Nearby activities include a short walk to Old Faithful Geyser, and the lodge is wheelchair accessible.

Noteworthy details: Beautiful lobby, live music, and a perfect location at the heart of the upper geyser basin.
