“I stumbled upon this great spot that serves an amazing Chilli Paneer Pizza – it's really something with its spicy kick and cheesy goodness. And the Achari Chicken Wings? They're a perfect match with the pizza. Topped off with a Limca, it makes for a fantastic meal. Highly recommend giving it a try if you're up for something new!“

“This place has been on my list for some time and I was fortunate to visit at a downtime. Amongst a city full of pizza shops, Down North stands out among the greats. ENVIRONMENT The restaurant is relatively easy to find and seats no more than 5 or so people in the shop. The wait was a tad excessive which I credited to the food being "made with love". FOOD I love a good piece of focaccia! Another contributor commented that their pizza can be likened to focaccia which I would find to be incredibly accurate. The "Detroit" style was incredibly flavorful accompanied by a heaping of toppings(I settled on the "I'm A Boss"). I will admit the fries left a bit much to be desired but not enough to influence my rating. If you're based anywhere in North Philly between Farimount and Erie Ave, I can confidently say Down North is among the top three picks for the area. Happy eating!“

“Better than “Asad’s Hot Chicken” hands down baaabbbyyyyyy!!!!!!!! The sandwich is heavy when you pick it up too! The flavor is everything, and the coleslaw on the chicken sandwich is fire. Now I dnt even like but the one this place makes is great. Only thing I would say, is to use purple cabbage instead of green for a little variety of color in the sandwich, and to add a little more acidity into the coleslaw as well but you still get that acid from the huge pickles on the sandwich anyway. The fries are exceptionally seasoned, unlike Asad’s fries, which are plain. Their dipping sauce is really good it’s nice and sweet. Which pair is very well with the spiciness of the chicken and fries. The chicken is very moist. Just melts in your mouth lol. they use brioche buns for the chicken sandwiches, which are a very nice fluffy and flavorful bread. Everything about this fried chicken branch is above and beyond. I will be coming back again to try their honey hot wings!!! This place even have chicken tacos. I highly recommend this to anyone living in Philadelphia. Especially those Asad’s Hot Chicken lovers. Yall don’t know what y’all are missing!“

“I've had their chicken quite a few times and it is always good. I decided to try something else on their menu, I picked the shrimp fried rice. Now theirs were a little different from the regular Chinese shrimp fried. They put cheese in it! Yes you saw it Cheese, I'm not sure if this was a Korean cheese or something else. The was like a Mozzarella cheese and it had A very good cheese pull they all put egg in it. Not chopped up but a whole cooked in the middle of the rice. Picture a layer of rice then a layer of egg and cheese and another layer of rice. What I like is that they used a Styrofoam carryout container but they used aluminum foil in the container That's a plus for me.“

Talia was patient, explaining menu items and options.Food: Chicken wings with buffalo sauce. Tasted good but could have used more sauce. Fries well done and Green Tea was nicely sweaten. Wait time 20 min for the food, cooked when ordered.It is pricey, all sold separately.On this day was steady with customers.Front and side nice seating area. But in the rear table(s) cluttered with boxes.Worth visiting!“

“Very yummy and fresh. As you can see in the pic of the burger, I bit it already so you can see the lettuce, mayo, tomatoes and onion are crunchy fresh! Love their buns too they have a slight buttery texture to them, but you have to eat them while they’re still hot! Coleslaw is good too. Also I did get with my order of chicken tenders(5)a bowl of potatoes and gravy, and a biscuit, it was all very good food. Love that the mashed potatoes were not that nasty box stuff you get from other places, I can see a couple of micro potato skins in there so I know they made it from scratch! I would suggest however that if you hop by this place do remind them to get you some condiments and napkins. Very good food for the price.“

“I tried chicken and tteokbokki here. You can choose chicken in small, medium, and large sizes, and the small size costs about $15 for one person (picture attached). You can choose between Korean BBQ, Soy Galic, and Spicy sauce, but I personally recommend soy galic. You can also choose half and half sauce. Don't expect the taste to be the same as Kyochon Chicken, but if you go when you miss chicken a lot, you will be somewhat satisfied. (But the Coleslaw tasted better than I expected.) The tteokbokki was also really delicious, so I recommend it. The price is reasonable and the staff is so friendly that I would like to go again.“

“Wow I been here once and I'm dreaming of this place still! Workers are crazy nice! Some seating inside and a restroom inside. Donuts are cake donuts, they have some hot and fresh (only few flavors) and some premade - all cake donuts I don't like cake donuts, but I loveeee the cake donuts here. The chocolate has to be my favorite! The glaze was good too. The banana was a no for me, had a weird taste. The strawberry lavender is super messy but so good and only good fresh bc all the sugar. The fried chicken sandwich is good , was a tad salty but juicy and crispy. The egg sandwich was good, had a spicy pepper jam sauce but was good! The fries were good and crispy, and huge portion! “Food is good but the guy who answers the phone is rude. Maybe get someone to specifically answer the phones who's pleasant. I ordered Uber eats and wanted to change something on my order but the app doesn't give you the option so I called as soon as I placed the order. The guy had me on hold for 5 mins and when he finally got back I told him what I wanted to change he proceeded to tell me I called too late but I didn't you had me on hold as soon as I called! “I have been coming to this place for about two years now and I am definitely not one to write reviews at all, but this place really deserves it. I am a senior in highschool and the chef john is the nicest and humblest man i know. He is kind to every customer and makes amazing food (I like the garlic rice bowl the best). “Beat the stadium food. Stadium Grill by Oogie's is the best hole in the wall for people planning to see a game. Why pay $20 for a mediocre burger when you can pay half that for some delicious, greasy perfection. I came in to Stadium Grill before a recent hockey game with some friends for brunch. Sporting sandwiches, pizzas, BREAKFAST pizzas, and more, we split a sausage Boli platter. Bolis are Stadium Grill's specialty; an edible cup made from pizza dough, filled with egg, cheese, and meat, topped with Everything Bagel seasoning and served with a side of ketchup or spicy ketchup (the spicy ketchup is simply hot sauce mixed in with their ketchup). While I'd prefer to eat Boli's with marinara, the Boli's themselves are amazing. One platter comes with enough Boli's to feed 4 hungry dudes and each Boli is densely packed with protein. The seasoning adds much needed salt and packs so much flavor. It's a must get for groups. Stadium might not be fancy, but it's a fast, affordable, and delicious way to prep before watching a game.“

“I came upon another "KKC" Fried Chicken establishment, this time inside of a Sunoco Gas Station in Southwest Philly. Krispy Krunchy Chicken is a quick serv fresh fried chicken franchise. I've found their chicken portions are way bigger with less breading than a Popeyes. Their chicken only comes in one flavor which has a little bit of spicy kick.The staff at the store was nice and quick to help me out. I've always gone with their tenders which have always been pretty fresh and tasty. The biscuits are decent and the wings they had out looked delicious. I'll have to give them a try next visit. They have an open air cooler for cold chicken meals to go. The manager told me that they sell well on EBT. The sides they offered looked decent, mac and cheese, jumbalaya (i've had before it's good) and mashed potato's (not as good as popeyes, but ok). The manager was in the store so he gave me a quick run down. They receive the chicken in fresh - white meat, dark meat so wings, breasts, thighs etc. and prepare it all in the back - from flour and seasoning to frying it and then putting it out in a warmer. Looked like a quick and efficient setup, kept clean by the staff. The gas prices at this Sunoco are always the lowest and the manager told me they have grubhub and Ubereats available. Not the best neighborhood, but the chicken was good!“

“Ah yes, the Grays Ferry Deli. What's not to love? Great breakfast food, awesome cheesesteaks, fresh fruit salads, tasty homemade drinks, etc. This small neighborhood spot gets busy, so it's best to phone in your order. Don't forget to bring cash.“

“I mean....its a Popeyes. You know what you're getting. And this one is on par with any other one you'll go to in this area. Similar to the Adams Ave location, this one is also in a strip mall with some possibly "off" individuals, but I wouldn't say it's any worse. The thing I don't like about this location however is the lack of space at the counter where you order. The counter is right next to the entrance, so when you come in to order, as you stand off to the side to get your food, you are in the way. People coming in, people going out, people queuing up to order, other people waiting for their orders. Other than that, everything is pretty much par for the course. Yes, there is a walk up window, but I'm not sure how or when that comes into effect; maybe order ahead orders, and they definitely take card, so maybe that other review caught them on a bad technology day or something.“
