Wow! This beautiful restaurant has exceeded my expectations. Each menu item I tasted is absolutely delicious. The wine list is so unique and is an adventure in itself. This is a must try restaurant in Banff.
We chose GoodFolk in Banff to celebrate a special occasion, but left with mixed feelings. I wanted to share our experience to help others decide if it's right for their trip.
Front-of-house greeted us warmly and acknowledged our occasion right away, setting a nice tone. Oddly, that recognition didn't translate to anything further—no compliment from the kitchen, drink, or small dessert. Since they specifically asked at the door, omitting it felt inconsistent.

Despite the price point of this restaurant don't expect to get bread & butter, they don't offer that even for a price. Side salad, nope that isn't an option either. However, the food we did have was very good.

Good Folk offers a delicious for-two Tomahawk steak experience and a very good lamb entree. Their breakfast is amazing, with omelets and yogurt served as art. While drinks can be strong and sides children-sized, the mushroom flatbread is worth the price. Leeks are delicious, and the wild boar dish is enjoyed. The restaurant provides an upscale environment with a more casual atmosphere outside on the patio, perfect for a relaxed yet refined dining experience. Service is quick, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive, with staff preparing food fresh and even providing ingredients for the platter. The restaurant often has pretty available tables, especially on quieter weekdays, and no reservations are needed. Overall, Good Folk offers good value, great drinks, and a variety of well-crafted dishes that make it a highly recommended spot.
