“The food was so delicious!! And our server Erling was very attentive. Definitely get the garlic cheese bread, and also the steak! Mash potatoes was so good too!! The crème brûlée was to die for I loved it. The seating area was comfortable felt like it was somewhat private it’s not like ur close to any other people near by eating.“

“For some time I have been enjoying the calamari and plum wine. Every so often, I will stay for a full meal. Last night we were hungry and had salmon and red snapper. The red snapper was good, but the salmon was exquisite - cooked to perfection with a crispy sear . The creamy spicy sause that went on both fish was so flavourful and delicious, I nearly licked my plate. Come for the calamari, stay for the salmon!“

“We went to Modern Ocean for my husband’s birthday yesterday. We have been waiting to try this restaurant for quite a while. To say this experience was amazing, would be an understatement. From the atmosphere, to the staff, to the food, it was all incredible. Madison was our server and she was inviting, warm, and knowledgeable about the menu. She was so great! We had an amazing night and we will absolutely be back. 110% across the board!“

“We had educators get together at Elite Asian Cuisine, to be honest it was my first time dining here. I am so delighted with the customer service, the ambiance, the place was not so big but great enough to accommodate 30 guests or more. The owner is so friendly and the foods are exceptional. I had been tasting so many Filipino dishes but their foods are extremely delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant and take out orders too for your family gatherings and occasion. “Food was wonderful. Service was exceptional and I really enjoyed my time here.

To start, we had the parmesan fries, and the baked brie. Both of which, were delicious. Especially the baked brie, which paired with their amazing baguette, made for a spectacular appetizer.

To compliment this, we had the baked pretzel bread, with soften whipped butter. The bread was hot, straight from the oven. It made for a perfect appetizer.

Onto our mains, me and my lovely wife had the New York Strip and the rack of lamb, both of which were cooked to perfection. The lamb had no gamey taste, and was perfectly seasoned. Honestly the best lamb I have ever had.

Our friends had the prosciutto-wrapped stuffed chicken, and it was phenomenal. I had a sample, and have never tasted chicken breast this tender in my life.

The seafood bucatini was spectacular as well, and was honestly really filling. The creamy sauce paired with the noodles made for a really comforting dish.

This was all really filling, and when we ordered our desserts we were in for a treat (literally). We got the Chocolate Molten lava cake, and the dragon fruit creme brulee, both of which exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed both desserts, but the stand out has to be the chocolate molten lava cake, with it being freshly baked and paired with a side of ice cream, the two flavors really completed each other.

To highlight the service, all staff were extremely attentive and welcoming. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant and when we left we felt like we were being taken care of really well. The water glasses were always topped up and the staff were quick to answer any questions and concerns we had. Truly phenomenal service and one that restaurants in Calgary should strive to mimic.“

“A really authentic Chinese restaurant, with authentic Chinese taste.

All of their dishes are the same as you would get in China.
We loved it, everything we got.
Soup was great and tasty, so was the smoked duck and the rice.
Service was great, they tried their best to accommodate us with the gluten free options.

Had a birthday party asked them to split the bill between the guests, lied and said they would but rather put the entire bill on one with a 20% gratuity. The ravioli is disgusting and the manager, Brye needs better management skill. Better places to wine and dine.“

“My husband and I used Charbar as our reception/dinner venue for our wedding in August 2022. Besides a few hiccups, which are to be expected, we had a great experience with them! The food was amazing and all of our guests had nothing but amazing things to say about it! The venue is a beautiful spot, and minimal decor was needed. The bar staff that we had the night of were great and made sure we were taken care of. We were able to have a tasting before hand and our coordinators worked with us to come up with a specialty cocktail that fit our budget. The only thing that might have been lacking was communication between ourselves, the coordinator, and the staff working our event. We struggled to get answers back right away through email, but our wedding was around Stampede time. There were a few mix-ups the night before and the day of our wedding. For example: We were dropping off our cake the night before to be refrigerated and was told that the manager on shift would know about it. When we got there, no one had any idea what we were talking about and our cake was almost given to the wedding that was happening that night. The day of we did not have a charged microphone, and there were some technical difficulties with the sound system during our dances. It was also not communicated on our end that non-alcoholic beverages were charged @$4/drink. Our wedding party also got their food served to them last, so we had to push back our schedule with speeches. There was also supposed to be a separate table set up for our photographer to eat at, and as we were being served dinner, it was then realized she had no where to sit. These hiccups are minor, but definitely made it so there were some added stresses to the day. Besides the difficulties with communication, we would recommend Charbar for your wedding if you are looking for something that is small and simple, but still modern! I would suggest hiring a coordinator if you do choose to use Charbar, only for the fact that as a young couple who did not know the ins and outs of wedding planning, there were things that were missed through communication that shouldn't have been and a wedding coordinator would be able to avoid this with their knowledge and expertise.“

“Had the pleasure of having Tim (manager at regency) of handling/hosting for our baby’s 100 day event. Tim was very ontop of everything from the very start of inquiring for dates/pricing, to menu changes/add ons, table settings/set up, all of our ask, fine details such as mic, sound, projectors, decor, liquor etc. Tim also followed up after our event to ensure everything’s good, and we weren’t missing/lose anything from the event.
Food was really good as well, considering we’ve been here for past events in the last 15-20 years. This place is a staple for event hosting, and service was amazing before, during and after the event.“

“Came here for the mother's Day dinner buffet and am so glad I did!! Everything was amazing and perfectly cooked!
The star of the show was the prime rib- med rare and perfectly melt in your mouth tender!
They also had a great variety of hot foods, seafood station and dessert station including a Chocolate fountain! It was $56 pp but given the huge range and the quality of foods it was absolutely well worth it.
It was also very family friendly and lots of families with young kids were there.
