The name suits the place. It's a gem tucked away in the suburbs. Shawnessy area was slammed, every restaurant had a long wait. We ventured across McLeod to the hideout and basically had the place to ourselves. The service was friendly (but not hovering in that annoying way) and attentive.The food was good 'ole reliable pub food. I had fish 'n chips, it wasn't the best I've had but it was good for suburbia. Normally I would wonder if something was slipped into my drink to put me in a suddenly great mood but I hadn't even ordered yet I don't know what the deal is with this River guy at the hideout but I was about to blast this hotel all over every mom's group every social media site everywhere I could think of even Church groups LOL. We booked a table for 13 for a simple 40th birthday party on the evening of March 5. It was well located and set. We were pleasantly greeted.. Service was excellent. Our server, Ryan was very friendly and efficient, serving us well, even bringing out plates and forks for a special cake we brought. We couldn’t have asked for more.
