“First time trying this place out! We were looking for a good filipino breakfast place for our Edmonton trip and this place was perfect. Their sinigang is the best, even better than our parents' cooking, literally mukhasim. My sister liked the sinigang so much she forgot about her own meal that she ordered. We really liked their lumpiang shanghai too. It was unique from the what seemed to be sotanghon in it. Ambience was very nice. Definitely had filipino vibes, especially with the karaoke going on. Really big filling portions too and pretty nice staff. Would definitely come back & recommend to anyone travelling to Edmonton.“
“We chose Filistix as the venue for my Mom’s surprise 65th Birthday and we were thrilled with our experience. The food was TERRIFIC! They paid homage to classic Filipino cuisine with a South Asian twist. On top of that, they were incredibly accommodating, friendly, and gave amazing service. We know how hard it can be to get Titos and Titas outside of their traditional expectations when it comes to Filipino food, but our whole group of 28 LOVED the food and left satisfied and impressed with their whole dining experience. Go check out Filistix if you haven’t been!“
“when we went to edmonton on March 2 we never forgot to order lechon belly from Cebuchon and BBQ. March 4, my wife and i traveled back to Cochrane (3 hour drive) with an order of Lechon Belly to our amazement the skin was still crispy as it was fresh from the oven. We highly recommend Cebuchon amd Bbq and would gladly travel back to Edmonton. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5-star recommendation“
“Our favourite family restaurant for traditional Filipino food. The owner, Lydia is endearing and her staff provide lovely service.Try the Kare Kare (peanut butter oxtail) or the lechon kawali (hubs fave) and the singang na baboy (both our daughters fave).“
“Didn’t know this was here. Was waiting at the Passport office and decided to eat. The food was fresh, super flavourful and so well priced. We had the kaldereta and the meat was so tender and the sauce delicious. Only $7 for the meal with rice. Also tried the biko (it was dry), the ube biko (yummy and fresh), and the lumpia (good but not crispy). Despite the minor things otherwise, the main meal itself was great and would definitely come back.Thru no fault of their own, the food court here is dark lol…some brighter lights would be nice, but it was clean.“
“Went here with my parents, for the first time after hearing great reviews from other fellow filipinos that had a great experience eating their homecooked meals. We got pork adobo and chicken tinola.Had to get another portion of rice because of the healthy portion sizes.Would definitely dine-in or takeout again.Parking: Was packed for a weekday though when you're early enough, its easy to park.“
“Chowkeni Restaurant offers a delightful experience for lovers of Filipino cuisine. Chowkeni boasts a cozy atmosphere with friendly staff and authentic decor that transports diners to the heart of the Philippines. The menu features a wide array of Filipino delicacies, from traditional favorites like adobo, sinigang and silogs to lesser-known regional specialties. Standout dishes include the crispy pata , sisig, lomi and the flavorful beef caldereta. Portions are generous, ensuring that no guest leaves hungry. Prices are reasonable, making Chowkeni an excellent choice for both casual dining and special occasions. Overall, Chowkeni Restaurant offers a taste of Filipino hospitality and culinary excellence that is sure to leave a lasting impression on diners. Whether you're a Filipino food enthusiast or new to the cuisine, Chowkeni is definitely worth a visit.“
“Consistency is the name of the game at this spot. While the menu may not change much, the Filipino dishes they serve up are always on point. Sometimes familiarity is comforting, especially when it comes to food that reminds you of home. So, yes, they might have the same offerings every time, but who's complaining when it's delicious.“
“Decided to try their delicious spicy Chicken Calderete with a nice Grapefruit Bubly drink! Awesome presentation with extremely pleasant staff! An awesome Filipino dish! A Must Try! The atmosphere was clean and beautiful!Parking: Where ever you can at the U of A!Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, just wheel up to the counter!“
“First time trying out the food for my daughter’s birthday a year ago. Kuya was very helpful and lending the trays needed for catering without extra cost. After tasting their food, I go time to time every month to order my filipino favorite dishes (kaldereta, bicol express, pancit, menudo, chicken curry, beef mechado, sinigang, pork adobo. spring rolls). Their turon, kutsinta and puto were also my favorites.“
