“We stopped in for lunch today. This location has transformed and the renovations are fantastic. It appears bigger but it is the same square footage as before. The service is definitely upgraded. The two gentlemen who served us today made sure we felt welcome. It was great to see the bar taps letting us know right away there was draft and it was perfectly cold. I had a dark ale and my guy had the usual. The fish was perfectly battered. I had the combination fish and two kinds of shrimp. I am now a fan of coconut shrimp. It was too much so now I have tomorrow’s lunch. We couldn’t resist the deconstructed carrot cake that came in a cute jar. Delicious! I didn’t take pics because we left our phones in the car. The place was pretty busy and while we were there we did not see plates going back into the kitchen which is an indication everyone was as happy as we were. Joey’s always had good food IMO but the inside felt a little too fast food. Not now, Joey has grown up and it feels adult. This place will be on our usual list. “A great, casual, inexpensive family spot. Very much like the previous restaurant in this space but nicely renovated! I made my burger a double and it was a very good feed. the service was prompt and I really can't complain about much of anything other then a lack of seasoning salt on the table lol.“
“Ordered the 3 peice haddock. The fish was delicious and crispy, and the fries were pretty good too! I feel like the Tatar sauce was a little lacking, but overall it was a great place!3 peices is a bit too much, I was able to have a second full meal of leftovers.“

“It was my first visit. The food was well prepared, calamari, fish and fish nuggets had a subtle flavoring with a very crispy batter, but not queasy. The clam chowder was generous with a very good selection of seafood. Again, not overly salted that there was a good taste of seafood. The chips were soft rather than a crispy one, which was surprising and in contrast to the other fried offerings. The coleslaw that accompanied the fried cheese was creamy with the right consistency; very refreshing to offset all the fried items.The decor is adequate with posters of the Beatles and Liverpool harbour. Food is clearly the focus. Service is almost cafeteria style. You place your order before seating yourself. Staff brings orders to your table. Prices are very reasonable. Definitely a family friendly restaurant. We ordered five items. Take home was paper wrapped, a reminder of days gone by when fish and chips were wrapped in newspaper.“
“You don't have to be British to love the menu at Winston's. Huge delicious entrees, served very quickly piping hot and so good. Friendly atmosphere, efficient staff, cozy decor, and just the best. I'll be over for a good feed again soon.“
