The chicken shawarma is unbelievably tender and perfectly seasoned — hands down the best in town. The beef donair is packed with flavour and never greasy, and the mixed grill plates are generous, beautifully presented, and ideal for sharing. Their garlic sauce and hummus deserve their own five stars; they’re rich, smooth, and clearly made in‑house. Even simple items like the falafel are done right: crispy outside, soft inside, and full of authentic Mediterranean flavour.

Beyond the food, the service is consistently excellent. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help you choose if you’re not familiar with Lebanese dishes. Orders come out quickly, even during busy hours, and the restaurant is kept clean and comfortable. Prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes — you truly get great value here.

“I ordered pizza from Red Swan Pizza in Ocean Park yesterday, and it was absolutely delicious! The new owners have only recently taken over, and they are already doing an amazing job. The pizza was fresh, loaded with toppings, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. You can tell they care about quality and customer satisfaction. The staff was friendly, and the service was excellent. “We arrived at Maggie Mae’s on a Monday evening, approximately 5:47 pm. We enter the building and are greeted by a fine young man that let is choose where we would like to enjoy our meal. I order Alfredo and split a poutine with my husband. Both plates were Devine, delicious, every bite I took I got a little closer to heaven. We mentioned to the waiter that it was my buddies birthday, the waiter had told us they were out of the desert but could do ice cream. My husband than asked if it was possible for them to sing the happy birthday song, the waiter made it happen. They came out with a candle, ice cream and heavenly voices. After dinner my husband went to go pay and the waiter took off one of the starters off the bill because they didn’t have the dessert. Furthermore, dinner at Maggie Mae’s was just an exquisite experience. We thank the staff for making this birthday dinner. Unforgettable.”

“These folks are top notch! We came in with our daughter and her two little boys, enjoyed a nice ice cream treat. We went to leave and realized she misplaced her keys. Came back in and they helped us look all over, even under her van! Couldn’t find them anywhere. Finally they looked at the security cameras and realized a customer behind us with his family accidentally picked them up. They were trying to figure out how to identify and contact him, when he realized he had someone else’s keys and brought them back. Some businesses wouldn’t have even tried to help, but these folks went above and beyond!!”

“I ordered on a slow day, and the owner personally came out to thank me. That kind gesture really stood out, and the food was exactly what I was craving.

The Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls were perfect — crispy, fresh, and not just 90% batter like some places. The Beef with Broccoli was fantastic, with great flavour and texture. I’m not much of a rice person, so the Chicken Shanghai Noodles were a great choice: filling, tasty, and satisfying. The Onion Cake was also excellent — both sweet and savoury, nicely layered, and with a great texture.

A wonderful local restaurant with kind owners and comforting, well-made food. Definitely worth supporting.”

“I highly recommend Canadian Brewhouse. I eat gluten free for health reasons and I have never felt so safe or respected by a restaurant. My first visit was what kept me coming back. The manager on for that night actually made my friend and I something to try that was gluten free and didn’t charge us since we already had our meal. It felt great to be treated so well as some restaurants really struggle with accommodating gluten free. I have eaten here for years and have never had bad service and the food has never made me sick due to gluten contamination. I have also ordered off Skip the Dishes and the restaurant has fixed things for me when Skip refused to help. If you want good service, friendly staff, and enjoyable food, you should go here.”

The lady staff was very friendly, welcoming, and helpful in suggesting food and drinks to try. The service made us feel comfortable right away. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully served. Everything we ordered was delicious, especially the warm noodle soup and crispy spring rolls. Definitely a nice spot for good Vietnamese food and excellent customer service.
