“They were short on staff ,and I think there was only one person in the kitchen, and someone young running the counter. They had the food prepared on time and it was hot and delicious, they certainly didn’t skip out on any proportions and would highly recommend them. They never let us down when we go“
“Lunch has a buffet. Dinner is takeout only. It takes about 15 minutes to make an order and walk out the door. You can order and pay online. Food is not kept under warming lights, so pick up on time or food may get cold. I love their chicken fried rice. The Triple Delight is also good. I do not recommend the Japanese Teriyaki Chicken. It's nothing like the Japanese restaurant. It's very "Chinese-style", in a sauce with green pepper and onion, and tastes only like green pepper.“
“If you’re looking for bare bones. Great Chinese food this is the spot. I have the teriyaki chicken skewers on top of pork fried rice. Wonderful. I eat at restaurants all around the country. Always looking for great Chinese spots. This is definitely on the list.Parking: You could park an army here“
“10’s across the board! I got the general tso chicken it came with fried rice and an egg roll and it was fantastic. My boyfriend and I decided to try a new food spot and this was a great pick. Good quality food kinda expensive though tbh which was $45 for two people but nonetheless I would definitely recommend and I will be a returning customer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“
“China Sea Is now China Garden... The food was pretty good, it was fresh and presented well for takeout. I got the sweet and sour chicken lunch special with shrimp fried rice instead of the plain fried rice that comes with the special. The cost was $12 and that's probably because I upgraded my fried rice to shrimp fried rice and the shrimp were the biggest that I've ever seen in fried rice. The food was fresh with a nice flavor. The egg roll was so good that it didn't even make it home. I called my order in and it was ready on time. The service was good, and they were friendly. The building is old so the dining area is a little old and dark...I'm not sure if I'd want eat in, but my take out experience was nice. The bathrooms were clean but had old fixtures. The only reason that I didn't give them 5 stars was because they didn't include any utensils or napkins.“
“Had such a great time here tonight. The owner was friendly and the food was amazing. I ordered the orange chicken and Mongolian beef. The orange chicken wasn't overly sweet and had a hint of ginger? and it had perfect breading, not to thick. The Mongolian beef was spicy!!! Tasted like a totally different dish with purple onions and not sweet. And they didn't skip on the beef. Definitely coming back for the sesame chicken and buffet to try all of the different "new to the area" dishes. The pepper chicken wings were good too. ??“
“We never dine in, always pick up only but it's a nice, calm atmosphere inside the restaurant. My daughter loves the shrimp lo mein here. All of the chicken entrees we have tried are delicious. The egg rolls are a fave of mine. The food is always fresh and hot when you pick it up.“
“I have several friends & family who will not go with me to Chop Suey Inn because of your poor health department rating. (a score of 50, I’ve been told)Please clean up your act. Every customer is a valuable asset you don’t want to lose.“
“Everything here is amazing. I'm a child so I'm picky sometimes but I tried 6 new foods today and the results were awesome. The workers are so friendly and have a board of photos of customers who came to their last building, my family and I are on it because my family has been going even before I was born. It's just that good. We always get the buffet and the food is always fresh. YUMMYYYYY“
“We ordered takeout from Mr. Chen’s in Homewood today - our first experience with this restaurant. Placed order by phone with ease and our food was ready and packed when we arrived. The Mongolian Beef and Triple Delight were both delicious. The staff was friendly and professional. The atmosphere of the dining area was inviting and we look forward to eating in next time - and having a look through the market! ??“
“Lol, the very first review says "authentic" Chinese food....errr.....no. It's really not lol. You want authentic, try Mr.Chen's, some of their menu items are indeed authentic. Anyway, the food here is pretty standard for "Chinese" restaurants like these. Good sized portion with okay food. Good value for your money, but don't expect too much. I personally think the dishes with water chestnut can do without quite so much of it....and I like water chestnut! Not a fan of their egg rolls at all. I do like their soups that come with the lunch specials though. No specific recommendations....honestly all the dishes seem pretty similar when you get them!“
“This is a small restaurant, but the food is very good. My wife and I ordered from the Lunch Specials menu; she had Mandarin Chicken and I had Hunan Chicken. Both dishes were delicious, and the portions were hardy. The service was friendly and efficient. We hope to return soon to order dinner from the main menu.“
“Some of the best Chinese in Birmingham. Our favorite approach is to not go at a peak time. If you do this, the service and food prep is fast and the dining area is quiet. Lovely environment, the lighting and decorations are very tasteful. We got the Homemade Pork Buns as an appetizer, they were delicious and authentic, slightly sweet fluffy buns with a savory and juicy stuffing. The Double Spicy Chicken is probably our favorite entree we've had so far, light and crispy breading, and a couple types of peppers. Awesome flavor. The spice went great with the Pork Buns. We also got Sauteed Sliced Pork Belly. It was really good too. Can't wait to come back and try more things on the menu.“
“Nice, quiet, peaceful dining area. We got the Cream Cheese Harumaki, the Combination Egg Foo Young, and the Orange Chicken. The Orange Chicken was our favorite. We got a side of hot chili oil that we added to it, it was great. Bold citrus flavor with orange peel zest, sweet, bitter, and spicy. Very nice.Want to try the Twice Cooked Pork next time!“
“This was the best experience I've ever had at a restaurant, the people there are so kind and sweet. We came in at near close and they still made us everything we asked for, the waiter was so nice to us. I had eggdrop soup and some wantons. That soup was easily the best meal I've ever had, I've never enjoyed something more. It was so warm and homey, and the wantons were so flakey and beautiful. I will admit that the lemonade was a little odd, but it can be overlooked due to how amazing everything was. I tasted my friends food as well, and it was all so delicious. I highly recommend the restaurant to anyone in the need for some good Chinese.“
“Nothing too exciting on the menu but a really good selection nonetheless. I'm always excited to see rice noodles on a Chinese menu. The egg drop soup warmed my soul and was perfect for a chilly afternoon. The general tsos was good but needed more heat. Our waitress was efficient and polite. Food came out fast and hot. The establishment was clean. This will probably be our go to spot for quick Chinese!“
“When you first walk in you see a beautifully decorated restaurant. We got the pork belly and the beef brisket. The pork belly was out of this world amazing. It has this little amazing fried potatoes cut in pieces that were so delicious with the pork belly. The potatoes and belly were in this delightful sauce that I could have eaten just on the white rice.“
“The food is well let me say!YUM,YUMMY,WOWYUM??DEFENTILY WILL PUT THIS PLACE IN MY TOP 3 ALONG WITH THERE # ON THE FRIDGE. SO ITS EASIER TO ORDER QUICKLY. AND IM NOT LOOKING WHEN I WANT CHINESE!? If you're interested in a good place for Chinese food check out the Golden Dragon ? It's really yummy. ? InMy area ensley 5points shopping center.“
“Higher quality than your typical fast food. Also when you go inside instead of drive through, you see their setup and it really inspires confidence in the quality and cleanliness. Also, I've had more pleasant interactions with the workers here than most fast food, friendliness every time I've been.“
“This is a hole in the wall Chinese restaurant. And when I say hole, I do mean it. Trash in the parking lot, cars and in a seemingly sketchy side of town. The shopping area that it's in seems abandoned. But baby.... The food is absolutely delicious. I was told to get the pork egg rolls. I got 4 and made them a meal. There were people walking in and out with orders like it was a major restaurant in a mall. Locals say it's the best Chinese food in B-ham. Blink and you will miss it. This place is a gem.“
“Food tastes freshly cooked, prices are very fair. The portions could be larger but the quality is significantly better than anywhere else I've been so I'm fine with it. Less than $12 for lunch and a large drink is better than a fast food restraunt and much better.“
