BEWARE: Predatory business practices: Booked a room the last weekend of September for October 5-6. Child, who was supposed to play in a softball tournament that weekend, ended up hurting knee. Had to go to the ER and ortho the next day. Canceled the room on the 1st. Called 1-800 number on Thursday and was told I would get a refund and if not refunded by that Friday, call back. Call today and told no refund. They are keeping the 200 plus dollars because a discount code posted on...read full review
I work for The Dinner Detective and this venue hosts us 2-4 times a month. I cannot brag on the staff enough! Marre and Allen Bar & Kitchen, located in the Birmingham Marriott, offers a variety of dining options in a spacious and well-designed atmosphere. The friendly and approachable staff ensures a welcoming experience for all guests. Breakfast options are excellent, with standout dishes like eggs Benedict and omelets prepared by Wanda. Guests enjoy the Mediterranean Hummus appetizer, served with naan, black olives, and feta cheese, as a good starter. The restaurant features solid choices like the Vegetable Pizza, cheesesteak, and a BBQ kimchi cauliflower appetizer that has received positive feedback. Although the cheesesteak could use more meat, the Cali Chicken sandwich and French toast have also been praised. Guests appreciate the good selection of draft beers and house-made chips. Prices are on the higher end, but many find it reasonable for the convenience, especially for hotel guests who prefer not to leave the building. The atmosphere is further enhanced by attentive service, making it a recommended choice for travelers in Birmingham.
