“I like Five Guys’ foods and service very much. I was so disappointed in the service today, though, that I feel compelled to write this in hope that the manager at the Fultondale location will see it. I went in to place an order, but noticed one employee was cooking food and there was no one at the register. As I walked to the register, I passed two employees seated at one table and another employee seated at a separate table. I stood at the register waiting, but no employee approached. The cook, who was quite busy, saw me and called to someone, but still no one came. One employee at a table rose and walked to the back of the room, so I thought she had gone back to go behind the counter, but she came back to her table having just gone to refill her cup. We made eye contact, so she knew I was waiting. But neither she nor the other two employees made any attempt to assist me. After another six minutes, with no acknowledgment at all from the three seated employees,I left. I won’t give up on Five Guys after one bad experience, but I hope the manager will see this write-up and use it as a teaching moment for today’s staff.“

“I called prior to heading to the location . I was told order would be ready in 10 minutes . I headed over to pick up my order due to me being more than 20 minutes away . I get there and still have to wait 20 minutes for my order . I had to ask for Ranch and Celery that is supposed to come with it . Had to wait for them to get some ready . Mind you my order was placed on Wednesday. I requested all of this with my order. They gotta do better with this . I don’t like the fact that your advertised price is $39.99 then you add 8.51 for getting traditional chicken wings . Nowhere does it say there will be an up charge for ordering traditional wings . $53. 35 was my total .“

“We went bc it was the only place open. We haven't been to this location before but we swore off Applebee's well over a decade ago after giving them several chances to redeem themselves. We didn't have high expectations at all but the server was great, everything came pretty quick, it was all hot AND tasted great. We were pleasantly surprised. And the bill was about 30% less than anywhere else we would have gone to sit down. Only thing I could say needs work is the actual physical restaurant itself. You can tell it's been there awhile and the carpet is yucky looking. Repairs and remodel are definitely needed. But we even said we would go back again soon and it's been almost 20 yrs since we've declared that in reference to this place. All 5 of us ate at around 12$/ea, before tip.“

“My wife and I were in Birmingham and looking for someplace for dinner and came upon Whiskey Foxtrot on a google maps search. The restaurant has a cool vibe and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful! My wife had the Cowgirl and I had the Classic, both were delicious! She ordered the loaded fries and I ordered the loaded tots, both were great but we should have just shared one order since neither of us could finish. “First and foremost let me say this wad the first time I have visited Hamburger Heaven and I knew nothing about the place except it was close to another place I was meeting some friends and I needed to grab a bite to eat. So my expectations were nonexistent going into the place.

The atmosphere was what one would expect from burger place where you were grabbing a quick meal to hold you over to dinner.

The dinning room was a serious no frill kind of place. Nothing wrong with that, it's just not the kind of place you would take a date to impress.

Now with THAT being said, I was extremely impressed with their food. The burger I had tasted very fresh and made exactly as I ordered. The bun was not soggy and none of the condiments were overwhelming but I got a great balance of flavors with each bite.

The fries were the old style crinkle cut and you could actually taste them. They were NOT the blan fries that most of the big chain places try to pass off on everyone claiming to be fries. Definitely NOT the golden arches!

As for the service. I give 5 Stars even though they couldn't accept credit cards at the time. Luckily I happened to have cash so it wasn't an issue but I don't normally carry more than a couple dollars on me.

The people working there were friendly and the dinning room was cool and the floor was clean. I didn't see any dirty tables and the trash can that I used was completely empty.

I am curious now if the other Hamburger Heaven in Birmingham are run as well as this one.

If you are ever in the area and feel like having a great burger and/or fries... this is your place.

Parking: The parking lot looks freshly sealed and fresh stripes so it's easy to see were and how to park.

The lot was easy to get in and out of too.

Wheelchair accessibility: It looked pretty easy to get in and out of. There was not automatic doors.“

“Went to this restaurant on a Saturday the place was pretty busy but we were able to order and then sit at our table. The staff was very friendly and the service was great.we both ordered a k-dog which were excellent 👌🏾 and not normal menu items so we got lucky to catch them serving them today. The joyland burger deluxe was great as well, the patty was seasoned very well and had good flavor! I definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone if you like burgers! “We love Marty’s GM SO much! We moved away from the area years ago but still try to plan our trips to Birmingham around a trip to Marty’s! We always get the Chicken Bacon Ranch Egg Rolls, Goat Popper Burger, and French Fries. And then depending on what they have in the frozen machine, a frozen margarita or a bushwacker. Everything is always perfectly cooked and delicious! Honestly , it’s wild how consistent the food has been over the years. Absolutely fantastic every time we go.“

“This past Saturday, I treated myself to a me date a day dedicated entirely to myself. After indulging in a relaxing one-hour massage, I found myself absolutely starving. Wanting to try something new, I continued my exploration of Homewood’s restaurant scene and landed on The Battery. I met my aunt there for lunch, and as soon as we arrived, I knew we were in for a treat. The place was packed inside and out which is usually a great sign. After about a 15 minute wait, we were seated. The interior had a modern, inviting atmosphere, and the service was excellent. Our waiter was incredibly kind, answered all of my questions, and I never once had to ask for a refill. Despite the restaurant being full, the service was impressively quick, and every dish arrived hot. Appetizers Buffalo Wings – The wings were well-sauced and smoked to perfection, with the meat falling off the bone effortlessly. However, the biggest letdown was the lack of seasoning. While the smoky flavor was great, the wings themselves needed more depth. 7.9/10 (With proper seasoning, this would easily be in the high 8s or even a 9). Queso & Chips – The chips were fresh, crunchy, and unseasoned but still did the job. The queso had potential, but it lacked the bold flavors needed to truly stand out. It wasn’t bad, but it could have been much better. 6/10 Entrées & Sides Wedge Salad – The salad itself was solid, but the bacon was a miss. It had an overpowering liquid smoke taste, leaving a strange aftertaste and smell. 7/10 Fries – These were outstanding hot, crispy, and well-seasoned. I also appreciated the variety of cuts and shapes. 8.5/10 Smash Burger – A well-executed smash burger with that signature crispy edge and juicy interior. However, the meat itself wasn’t seasoned, which held it back from being exceptional. 8/10 Final Thoughts Overall, The Battery was a great experience, and I’d happily return. The biggest downside was the lack of seasoning across multiple dishes. If they improved that, their food would easily score even higher. That said, I still highly recommend trying this place. “Hero Doughnuts is a cool spot right across from Railroad Park. I stopped in yesterday for a few doughnuts and they were absolutely delicious—the blueberry doughnut was one of the best I’ve ever had.

“I love coming to Slutty Vegan. I used to go to the ones in Atlanta (Ralph David and Edgewood), but I've moved to Alabama about 10 months ago. I loved when I realised that they had a shop here in Birmingham.

Their slutty fries is amazing with the spicy agave mustard or hunny mustard. 9/10

Can't go wrong with the fussy hussy if you're looking for the normal toppings that come on a burger. 8/10

When I get a burger from here, though, I like the one night stand because I like the v. bacon. 9/10

The boujee heaux is their fried cauliflower wings. I've only ever tried the 10pc garlic parm w. fries, but it's amazing. 9/10

I've had the banana pudding before. I don't get it anymore, but it's still delicious. I like my banana pudding a little more solidified, whether it is the breading/crumbles, or actual bananas. This does mimic a legitimate pudding though. 9/10

The hollywood hooker is a good v. philly. I don't normally eat philly cheesesteaks that often, so it's almost a bit much for me due to the amount of stuff in it, but I can still appreciate the flavour profiles, the necessary toppings to make it a philly, and the ability for Slutty Vegan to make a tasty version of the classic sandwich. 9/10

I've only had the project chik one time, and that was when it first came out. At that time, it was a limited time item. I didn't like this sandwich as much, but that's because it wasn't saucy. I think they've added ranch or mayo, but it wasn't enough, so you can simply get extra ranch/mayo. 6.5/10

The sweet potato pie is delicious. 10/10

The hooker fries are delicious. Arguably the best item on the menu for me. If there's any legitimate critique I have of Slutty Vegan, it's that the buns get soggy really quickly from the burger, so it can feel like eating the toppings and patty with a mushy bun sometimes. So, I mostly get the hooker fries when I visit because there is no bun to worry about, and it gives me the same toppings as the philly cheesesteak, except I don't have to worry about being overwhelmed with everything that's inside of the hoagie and trying to keep everything pieced together. The hooker fries IS the hollywood hooker, just with fries instead of a hoagie. It's pretty much loaded fries, but it has to be some of the best loaded fries I've had. 11/10

I do miss the big dawg though. I love bratwurst, so SV's spin on this was amazing. Add this back to the menu and I'd be back probably two to three times a week continuously.“
