“My husband and I love Golden City! We started going 3 years ago, and it has consistently been our favorite place in the area. We love their sushi rolls, sweet and sour chicken, and hibachi. My favorite is the egg drop soup. Not only is the food fantastic, but we always love the incredible service that Golden City provides.“

As far as the regular menu, there are so many options that you can find anything you want, Japanese food, Chinese, burgers (good ones!), and far more. “Tao Asian in Pelham might look quiet when you first walk in, but don’t let that fool you—the food speaks loud! The egg drop soup was hot and comforting, the egg rolls and crab rangoon were fresh and delicious, and the portions were more than generous. They even loaded me up with rice and a Go Box that had me tapping out. Service was quick, food came out within minutes, and everything tasted better than expected. Definitely a hidden gem worth checking out. Skraitup!“

“The egg rolls are our favorite of any we have had elsewhere. The service is good and we always feel welcome. It’s our first choice for Chinese/Thai food.

Kid-friendliness: Our grand children always find things they enjoy. Ages 8, 13, 15 and 18. One thing I particularly like is that the noise/music is not so loud. You can have a conversation while enjoying your meal.“

“I will never order from this place due to the lack of customer service skills these people have. I have ordered here multiple times with white rice missing from my order. When I call up to inform them that my rice is missing, I am always told to bring my food back up to store and “we will give you white rice”. Well there is a problem with that when I live 30 minutes away, my entire order is going to be cold at that point. They refuse to replace the entire order and do it correctly so all the food will be hot. It seems like this place is ok with screw ups and not doing the right thing. Every order that I place is a minimum of $60. If you are ok with losing a customer, I am ok not ordering from here.“

“Just moved here, & I'm so thankful I found this hidden gem! I looked up over 20 places, & I didn't see what I wanted on the menu I'm so thankful I called in and asked if they have Tofu & they did! I made my own Tofu with broccoli, & fried rice with only egg/onion. They have the best prices affordable prices in Hoover! This will be my only to go spot for Chinese food. It's well worth the drive in a very beautiful neighborhood to the plaza. One of my favorite things is the crispy noodles 🤤 they make there's fresh next time I'm getting 10 bags because one wasn't enough. I will be getting food here weekly very generous with the portions almost enough for 3 meals. I highly recommend everyone try this spot, & if you don't see something on there menu just call & ask. The lo mein noodles are thick like they should be. Egg drop soup was yellow and flavorful. Sauces on beef & broccoli and sweet & sour were perfectly savory and tangy. Fast food places lately just have rude workers, but these people were awesome. Greeted us kindly, offered us samples, and were just kind. It was also really clean in there.

“Lunch has a buffet. Dinner is takeout only. It takes about 15 minutes to make an order and walk out the door. You can order and pay online. Food is not kept under warming lights, so pick up on time or food may get cold. I love their chicken fried rice. The Triple Delight is also good. I do not recommend the Japanese Teriyaki Chicken. It's nothing like the Japanese restaurant. It's very "Chinese-style", in a sauce with green pepper and onion, and tastes only like green pepper.“
