“Been eating at The Ark for as long as I can remember. Some of my earliest childhood memories were coming in with my grandparents on Friday nights. Stopped in yesterday for lunch and while the catfish was as good as always and the service was excellent, we were all disappointed to find that they have changed hushpuppies. I HATE onions and one of the things I always loved about The Ark was that their hushpuppies had no onions. When we sat down yesterday, we immediately ordered a dozen (as we always do) but when we got them they had onion in them. As much as we enjoy eating there, I can get good catfish without driving over an hour to The Ark so the hushpuppies were the main reason we came. I guess we are done unless they go back to the recipe I have eaten for nearly 50 years.“

“There was a line out the door, usually that’s a good sign. If you’re in a hurry this isn’t the place for you. 5 families in front of us. One lady at the register, she’s talking to go phone calls, then part of the people in line order then checking out the to go orders as they come in. I get it’s busy but maybe delegate a take out person? 26 minutes later… We ordered a rib plate and pork plate. Meat was great. Good value to food ratio, Mac n cheese was only side really noteworthy. Must be an Alabama thing with bbq sauce I wish they, as well as every other bbq place in this state had a sweet option like Sonny’s. Would eat here again.“

“I ordered the Steak Patty Melt and before I did the server answered all my questions. Mainly, is it tender, it was. It was a delicious top sirloin cut into small thin slices with onions and cheese, served on Texas toast. It was awesome. I can't wait to visit & have this sandwich again.“

“This was our second time here stopping through on our travels & it did not disappoint! We sat at the main bar with a few locals. We had the Best fried oysters I’ve ever had! Our server made an incredible Bloody Mary with a fried piece of bacon, petite olives & a Lawrys seasoned rim. Staff was all friendly & attentive. We had a great experience and will definitely be back!“

“The best thing is the fresh Milo’s Tea on tap! The food was fresh and tasty. The burgers are cooked perfectly. The chicken tenders, nuggets, and sandwich have a good taste and flavor to them. They are freshly made and have good breading. The fries are amazing, especially with the double-o sauce! The service was quick, employees were friendly, and the restaurant was clean inside and out. Definitely recommend!“
