My orders have always turned out pretty well, and the wait time has only been about 15 minutes once, which isn’t bad. It seems like there are usually only a few staff members working, so things can get a little busy. While customers aren’t always greeted right away and you may need to get someone’s attention for assistance, the cakes are genuinely delicious and worth it. With just a bit more focus on customer engagement, this place could be even better!“

“After a couple of years following here Hunnie Butter on Instagram I finally made down and purchased banana pudding and slice of German chocolate cake,key lime and red velvet cake and I tell you it was unbelievably good. I've been to many places stating they had the world famous banana pudding after tasting Hunnie Butter banana pudding other places don't even come close. I just hope this is a year around dessert. “Adorable little place! And I do mean little. What it lacks in space it definitely makes up for in deliciousness and cuteness!
The Choco Banana Breadosaurus is one of their “hot” items and while it looked amazing we decided on vanilla custard churrovers. They were heavenly! The popover was soft but crispy and the vanilla custard was smooth and creamy.
Some other notable goodies they have are chocolate pudding, fresh squeezed orange juice and ubi tres leches cake, something I’m really looking forward to trying next time!
They also have non-food items like small resin dinosaurs, pens, stickers, etc.

“This was an unexpected but lovely surprise. We had eaten lunch in the area and saw a bakery sign. I told have to tell you this but if I see a bakery sign I’m going in.

Imagine my double joy when I saw the large round silver platter and tongs. I knew I was in the right place at the right time.

Even though it was midday they still had a lot of delicious options. We all know spots like this the traffic and rush starts in the morning when fresh bread is calling your name.

The hardest part was picking what we were going to get. We settled on the following:
Pistachio muffin
Strawberry danish
Cheese and coconut strudel
Devil dog muffin
Traditional muffin

Service: a little slow at first, but very friendly and very quick once someone came out to take my order.
Food: oh boy… anything but the butter croissant?! That croissant was dry and tasted just a tiny bit burnt, although it didn’t look burnt at all. The flavor wasn’t really there. I’m not sure, maybe it was missing the right kind of butter? I know the highest quality butter is make-or-break for a good croissant, so that may be it. The cardamom bun, though? SPECTACULAR. The caprese sandwich? Scrumptious!“

“I recently ordered a cake from this wonderful place for my sister's 50th birthday. I asked for a lemon cake with vanilla frosting. First of all, Mama Linda herself took my order over the phone and she was a delight to talk to. When I picked the cake up she was there to ring me up and show me the cake. The cake looked so beautiful and obviously made with care. This was one of the best cakes me and my family had ever had!! It was so delicious! I can't say enough good things about Mama Linda's Bakeshop. This was the second time I ordered a cake from her. The first one was for my Mom's 70th birthday. It was her signature carrot cake, and that was also an incredible cake. 5 star service, 5 star cakes!“

“I have had my eye on this place since 2025 when I moved back to AZ from TX but I'm a bit of a drive away so the moment I was in Phoenix for business I went straight in and ordered almost one of everything. I'm not an influencer or anything like that, just a huge fan of businesses that are owned by real people who seem like they want to do right by their employees and their community and JL Patisserie seems like one of those. I also LOVE French baking.

The TL;DR of it is that I would definitely recommend any of their laminated pastries and their coffee is incredible.

Hawaiian Pulled Pork Sandwich - Divine. I'm not sure what the creamy sauce was on top of the cheese but it was out of this world and the pork managed to stay together beautifully without soaking into the croissant roll.

Ham & Cheese Croissant - Traditionally a grease trap so I wasn't surprised in the slightest when this was dripping after I heated it in the oven. The filling was excellent quality. My friend said it was his favorite!

Ube Cruffin - This was interesting. Ube is tough to bake with but the lamination was still great. The cream cheese filling was surprisingly light and very tangy. Definitely rich enough to give me a little bit of a tummy ache but it was SO GOOD and a surprising flavor combination without being overly starchy like a lot of other ube baked goods I've had.

Matcha Cruffin - I'm still thinking about this one. The matcha filling was otherworldly. So concentrated and high-quality and a light dusting on the crunchy sugared outside along with caramelized sugar and possibly macadamia nuts pressed into that on the very top? Honestly I'm ready for another right now.

Eclairs - These had well-structured fillings with super-concentrated flavors. I got coffee and chocolate, the coffee was my favorite of the two and I wish I hadn't shared it. The choux was one of the better ones I've ever had, will definitely be comparing everything to this from now on.

Some sort of Peanut Brownie - My least favorite unfortunately. Not an American-style brownie and I didn't expect that, but I had been hoping for more complexity and flavors. I was expecting the peanuts to have a bit more salt to them, the chocolate to be more concentrated & more bitter to balance the peanut cream, and the crumb to be less crumbly/more moist with chocolate.

Chocolate Caramel Pie - Exactly what I expected and so tasty. Buttery and thick shortbread pie crust, salted caramel filling that had a bit of flow but not enough for us to be a huge mess sharing it, and thick chocolate cream.

Lemon Raspberry Cake - The dessert I was most excited to try and I was right to be excited. Fluffy lemon mousse on top of ?maybe a chiffon sponge? with lemon cream and raspberry compote. Took significant self control to not eat it in a single bite and even more to share it.

Decaf Americano - I'm actually mentioning this because I get decaf Americanos everywhere I go. I'm on ADHD meds and can't have caffeine with them so I've had a LOT of decaf Americanos. JL Patisserie made the single best one I've ever had. I almost asked them to remake mine because I get a splash of oat milk in it usually to make the shots less acidic and I was worried they added too much - anyone else who gets decaf Americanos knows they are criminally watery. So glad I trusted the barista because it was one of the strongest decafs I've ever had and their beans are SO GOOD.

“Lola Coffee has a really great atmosphere and is a solid spot to grab coffee or hang out for a bit. My favorite drink is off menu—the Matador topped with their homemade whipped cream. It’s simple but so good, and the whipped cream really takes it to the next level. Overall, a great coffee shop with a standout drink that keeps me coming back.“

The rice cakes were a little too spicy for me but the fried chicken was the perfect balance. I went on a weeknight and had a reservation -- service was quick and the staff was nice. This restaurant is not on the first floor so make sure you're looking closely for signs!“
