I have been eating here since I was a junior in high school, 1961. It is a place I take visitors to and give them a “Taste of Tucson.” I took my grandson there tonight and I had the worst experience I’ve ever had there. For starters, my salad was soggy and the lettuce and greens looked like they were leftover from yesterday. Really bad. Then, after placing the order, we waited 50+ minutes to get our food. El Corral offers a rustic southwestern ranch ambiance with friendly service and tasty dishes. The prime rib is their specialty, described as very good, evenly roasted, moist, flavorful, and perfectly medium rare. The T-bone steak is cooked well, and the ribs fall off the bone. The restaurant has a long history, and many customers return, noting that everything remains great today. The atmosphere is perfect to bring you back to the days of the Old West. They can handle large parties and have been doing this a long time. The entrance has a steep ramp, and there is no warning sign or rail to prevent falls, which is concerning given the number of elders who dine there. Despite this, El Corral remains a beloved spot for delicious food and friendly service.
