“This is a long overdue review. Back in the beginning of October, we wanted Italian food for dinner. We also wanted to go somewhere that we had never been to before. A search brought led me to Illuminaté Restorante. We are extremely glad it did! So, a reservation was made.

Upon entering, we immediately found Illuminaté Restorante to be a comfortable environment with a rustic Italian feel. Obviously, it is a popular place too. We can understand why.

Our meal started off with the Grilled Romaine and the Grilled Calamari to share. Both were outstanding! The Roasted Garlic dressing was wonderful on the perfectly grill romaine. The Calamari was a surprising delight. The hints of orange and pickled fennel took this squid to another level. In a world, awesome!

Our pasta mains were next level Italian cuisine. The Pappardelle al Ragu was by far on of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had. The Braised Angus Short Ribs and Mushrooms were in a sauce that was out of this world. As for the Spaghetti and Meatballs, one would think “What a basic dish.” This was far beyond basic. Whatever is in their “Family Recipe” is extremely flavourful and delicious. Best meatballs ever.

Of course there was dessert. We shared the Citrus Crème Brule and the Mini Cannolis. The Lemongrass and Citrus was a great edition to this delicious custard. One cannot go to an Italian restaurant without having Cannolis. The Pistachio and Ricotta filling was superb. These mini cannolis rivals those of Mike’s Pastries of Boston.

And then there’s the service. Marie took extremely good care of us. She is very knowledgeable about the menu when we had questions. In chatting with Marie, she told us how much she loves her job and what she does. It shows. It’s always a pleasure to have service like Marie’s when dining out.

So, would I recommend Illuminaté Restorante? Absolute! This is a gem of a restaurant that you don’t have to travel downtown to. We can’t wait to dine there again.“

“After almost a year of living in Vancouver, my husband and I have finally found our favourite pizza place! Hometown Pizza had the best pizza we've had here so far for a very good price as well! Both pizzas we tried (Butter Chicken Special and Italian Special) were outstanding and their fish and chips was great, too! We'll definitely be back to try more things on their menu! “Today we went here to celebrate my sisters birthday. Man, I honestly had no idea how it would turn out, but our experience at Amoroso has exceeded our expectations!

Eugenia was very kind and went above and beyond to serve us, filling our waters every time we needed more. She told us the restaurant has been open for 32 years. I saw regular customers ordering "the usual". Like a scene out of a movie.

The atmosphere is dark and ambient- very romantic. They offer a free birthday pasta (you bring ID for proof), and have HUGE servings!! They were as big as Anton's!

The price is reasonable with the gigantic portions. The cheesecake is a must-have. It's double baked and comes with a candle if it's your birthday!

I'm definitely coming back here again, and I 100% recommend this place.“

“What an unforgettable experience! Manager Bairen or Bryan (not sure if I got the name right) was amazing. He took extra steps to take care of the customers. We’ll definitely order from this place whenever we want pizza.Here is the story, I am visiting my senior parents from San Francisco. After picking up the pizza, my parents had a harder time chewing because it’s too thin and too crispy for them. Not sure what went wrong, I called Pizza Hot. The manager explained there are 3 different kinds of crusts and what my parents had before probably was hand crafted which is between the thin and pan crust. And he offered to bake a new hand crafted crust for my senior parents so they can enjoy.Really appreciate what the manager did for us!“

“As a regular customer service staff are nice and professional. I once noticed as new staff came to make the pizza; the pizza was dough was too soft and sub par; needed more time in oven. Other than that proficiency is great even in the dinner rush busy times.

Parking is the mini mall is hard to find as well as in the residential area where it is located.“

“First time I had the famous Famoso Pizza and I absolutely loved it. I love the doughy yet thin crust and the chunky tomato sauce. Unlike Freshslice or Pizza Hut, I could see and taste each topping which were good. The Capriciosa was excellent with prosciutto, Kalamata olives, artichokes, basil and real mozzarella cheese. This was very well made and scrumptious! Too bad Famoso operates inside Ricky's in Ladner because it is a premium Pizza brand inside a truck stop. “I have been here multiple times over the years and so far this place hasn’t failed on me. Food is good and always ready for pick up when I am there. Food is hot. Sometimes parking can be difficult because the parking lot is small. The Pizza Hut is almost hidden in the corner beside 88 Supermarket.“
