“We had an amazing experience at the Alpina Restaurant. The restaurant is well appointed and the view is stunning (even with some rain and clouds). The food was absolutely outstanding (especially the beet salad) and we enjoyed literally every bite. Both our servers were very good. It was fine-dining level expensive and worth every penny. Was perfect for our anniversary celebration. Definitely recommend!”

“Peter’s Sushi is a hidden gem. We were greeted to sit anywhere by kind staff, and when we ordered our food.. we were amazed once again. We didn’t think anything could top Nori Sushi in Nanaimo but this place is a neck and neck contender.. maybe even slightly better. We also had the seasonal Wagu which was also amazing.

“.🥲Normally have an ok experience. Today though had the Austin Benny andwas very disappointed. When they state porkbelly and you get shaved roast porkbelly that is not seasoned and because it is thinner than their bacon super chewy and distracts from the other flavours of the dish which are okay. If they rubbed it and braised the belly and cut proper thick slices for porkbelly it would do the oppisite and add to the dish 🥲.”

“The coffee shop at the Butchart Gardens is a decent spot to grab a bite and have a drink of coffee.

It wasn’t something spectacular, but it got the job done. Me and my girlfriend needed a little bit of energy after the ferry ride to the island, and this did the trick.

My main complaint though? It is pretty expensive, considering the already high price of entry to the garden itself.”

“Nice and cozy place. I barely eat Pho outside of my kitchen because I make a good Pho but I had to admit Pho broth here met my expectation. Their Pho served with flat noodle that rarely found at other Pho place. Also they don’t serve beansprout or herbs along just onion since it’s typical Northern style Pho. I got addicted to Pho tai lan (stir fried beef Pho) right on the first time then takeout ordered for the next. I’ll come back as visiting Victoria for sure.”

“Sushi was great. I asked extra ginger and obtained a generous portion. Sushi is better than any other sushi places nearby. Inside may not be inviting to dine in, but if Sushi quality is your main priority it is a place to stop.”
