“I've been hearing a lot of good things about the "big mary" chicken sandwich from MaryBrowns. For reference I'm normally a popeyes spicy chicken fan but I've noticed popeyes quality go downhill after their widely publicized launch of "the chicken sandwich". On Mondays the big mary, original or spicy is only 4.99 which is an amazing price nowadays. Even triple O raised their Tuesday special price. In the past I've found Mary browns to be very oily and salty. Ordered a spicy big mary. I ate in the parking lot. The first thing I noticed the sandwich was hot. The bread was almost too soft, but I would say perfectly soft and fresh. The chicken, the star of the show, when I squeezed the edge, I was shocked no oil appeared. This was a massive piece of chicken, the breading was perfect, not as salty as I remember. The spice level was perfect and I'm a person who puts pepper sauce on my food. To say I was blown away is an understatement. Honestly if there was another Mary Browns on my route north out of Nanaimo I would have had another for dinner. You can bet your bottom dollar I will find a Mary Browns next monday“
