“My favorite, calamari with Greek salad. Salad is yummy, fresh, fries are great. But the only problem I thought was they cut the calamari so thin. So I think, when they buy the frozen calamari, they cut it on half. Like seriously the calamari is thin like paper and full of batter. Service us amazing, the in-house sauces are amazing especially the chillie sauce, just the calamari bit.i stopped going here, I go to the metro town opa instead, or the tsawwassen.“

“The food in this place is one of the best Mediterranean food I have tried so far. I recommend it. My favorite is beef souvlaki. The prawn is good as well. Their fries are amazing, and their fries portion is huge. Their spinach dip is really delicious, but the portion is really small, so if you want to share with others, u must order the fries or hummus. Those are big-size starters.“

I can't say enough wonderful things about My Greek Taverna! From the moment we walked in, we were transported straight to the Mediterranean with the warm, inviting atmosphere and authentic Greek hospitality.

The food here is nothing short of extraordinary. Every single dish we ordered was bursting with incredible flavors that dance on your palate. The moussaka was perfectly layered with rich, savory bechamel that melted in our mouths, while the souvlaki was grilled to absolute perfection - tender, juicy, and seasoned with just the right blend of herbs and spices.

What truly sets this place apart is how every bite delivers such intense, satisfying flavor. The dolmades were delicately wrapped and filled with a fragrant rice mixture that was both hearty and refreshing. The tzatziki was creamy, garlicky perfection that complemented everything beautifully. Even the pita bread was warm, fluffy, and clearly made fresh.

The chef clearly has a masterful understanding of Greek cuisine - each dish felt like it was prepared with genuine love and respect for traditional recipes, yet with that special touch that makes it unforgettable. The lamb was fall-off-the-bone tender, the seafood was fresh and expertly prepared, and the vegetables were vibrant and flavorful.

Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the staff clearly takes pride in sharing their authentic Greek culinary heritage with guests.

“The Missus and I along with two family outlaws had a pleasant dinner at the Royal Oak Restaurant. The Missus had visited Royal Oak Pizza in Burnaby many moons ago. The decor inside projects a 1980’s Greek restaurant vibe. The server was friendly and prompt with taking our orders. Our dishes were above average in taste and value priced. There was ample parking in the rear which was very convenient. A nice visit if in the area.“

Unfortunately it lacked lemon, Kalamata olives and most surprisingly missed the garlic which is like making Nachos without cheese which the local Raven Pub has somehow masterly failed at but don't get me started. Stick with their Tzatziki & Pizza and your in good hands!“
