“This is a great place. It’s one of those eateries on the North Shore that is a must visit. Menu is not elaborate but that’s why this place works. They do what they do really well. “We came for our 20th anniversary. We decided to dine there. The scenery is amazing. You get to see an panoramic view of Vancouver. The service was great. It is a bit on the slower end, but I consider this right for this kind of view. They have an excellent selection of BC wines. The food was amazing and the servers had a good knowledge about the food they are presenting. The food quality is great. However it is on the pricey edge

We had an amazing experience at Bravo! We made a reservation for 10 PM and arrived on time, not realizing the restaurant closed at 11 PM. We stayed until 11:45 PM without even noticing how late it was, and the staff never once made us feel rushed. In fact, the owner himself was helping to serve, which we only realized while chatting with him at our table. He was so gracious and welcoming—it really added a personal touch to our evening.

We’ve ordered every item (was so good we had to reorder some of them) on the menu and the food was phenomenal, and the service was exceptional. It’s rare to find a place where both the quality and hospitality are this outstanding. Bravo is truly a gem, and we can’t recommend it enough!“

The food was incredible, the olives are a must try (we ended up getting three orders for two people), and the overall vibe of the place was perfect. Our server Taylor was also exceptional. She was attentive, knowledgeable, fun, and all around some of the best service I’ve ever received. I have been to a number of Michelin star restaurants and Is that French might be one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to! Can’t recommend this place enough. “Had a fantastic dinner before a local concert. Started with the tuna appetizer with focaccia and then moved on to the daily pasta special of a squash rotollo with short ribs and a delicious nebbiolo red to pair with it, at the recommendation of our server. The pasta dish was so rich and delicious and plated beautifully! Excellent service rounded out an amazing experience!“

“Stopped in here to seek refuge from a mid-day sun shower and so happy we did.

Tucked away in a less than inspiring alley, you enter to feel the warmth of a cozy little tasting room. Red brink line the walls and soft dim lights bathe the long spare room. The counter is accented with an array of colorful piggy banks which serve as placeholders for table reservations, very cute.

Our hostess was super friendly, and helpful in serving up two wine flight trios. The Proyecto granacha we had was the standout but we were happy to try all of them.

We lingered here for quite a while before continuing our walk through Gastown. Recommended if you want to break your day of exploring with a leisurely glass of wine.

“Me and my friend were there earlier today. Our server Tia was absolutely phenomenal! She has such a friendly, professional demeanor and she is very very knowledgeable and gives amazing recommendations. I ordered a French 75 and originally it was too strong. Tia then suggested adding some sprite or seven up and then it was so so so perfect! The bartender is also extremely talented. He added just the right amount of sprite or seven up to make the French 75 the perfect combination of sweet and tart. It is really really impressive how accommodating this place is. I would give 10 stars if I could. Overall, such a great experience and I will definitely be back. This first visit set the bar sky high.“

“My boyfriend an I were looking for a place to dine while walking around Gastown when we came across Al Porto. We entered and where greeted by the waiter SIXTO. He made us feel very welcomed and took care of us. We had the lasagna which was excellent and the calamari which we found to be very chewy and tough. Not properly prepared. We ordered Molson Canadian beer and where told that we don’t carry it. SIXTO recommended we try The Kokanee beer which was comparable. We where offered the dessert menu but declined and had another Kokanee. Overall experience was good with exceptional service from our waiter. Will defiantly return to this restaurant next time we are visiting Vancouver.“

Reasonably priced and economical vibes in the restaurant which could use a little updating maybe but we like and it is clean and fast and incredibly good. Every time we try other sushi we compare it to Ajiya and so far Ajiya always beats every other place. This is not a place to come to and expect high class service as it is economically run by the owner and a small staff and it seems the negative reviews are from high maintenance people who expect so much while still paying so little, not fair in my opinion and so easy to disregard their opinions but when it shows up in the overall number out of 5 then definitely not fair. This should be in the high 4.5-5 rating restaurant and we will definitely keep going back.

Vegetarian options: We often order vegan and vegetarian options and I especially appreciate the tofu sushi which you can almost never find anywhere else. So many amazing choices.“
