Food is good with the bento box having a nice spread of flavor and a reasonable price tag that’s similar to the rest of the food court. One of the highlights of umi is their dining area that provides some peace and quiet separated from the main mall seating area which can be a bit chaotic at times.
I haven’t tried their made-to-order food yet but their sushi isn’t bad. Sometimes the ready-to-go sushi can be very good, sometimes not sooo good.
Umi is a good place to eat. First, there is a reserved seating for umi customers only. Second, they have a menu with a lot of options, like so many options. Third, the workers are working very hard to perfect the food. They look like if they're trying to make the best food in a competition. Finally, the food isn't too expensive. For a chicken bento box for $15.5, I would say it's good and affordable compared to Edo Japan.

Umi Japanese Eatery & Udon Bar offers consistently delicious food in a quiet and uncrowded atmosphere. The restaurant has a designated seating area, including bar seats, providing a convenient spot to rest and dine while shopping. The food is reasonable for the price, with options like chicken teriyaki and donburi, which is a better value than the bento box. Umi serves fantastic sushi options, with dishes like the Alaska & spicy combo Maki being excellent choices that provide a great balance of flavors and freshness. The yam & avocado roll is a solid light option, while the beef California roll stands out with a delicious twist on the classic. Although some dishes like Udon Chicken and Laksa Udon may not have the same appeal as before, the bento box still offers relatively cost-effective, large portions. While the flavors can be a bit salty, the service is fast and organized, making Umi a solid choice for Japanese cuisine and a must-visit spot for sushi lovers in the area.
