Wine Bars near Sidney

“We stopped by here for lunch after getting off the ferry on our way to an amazing cabin at Wild Renfrew in beautiful Port Renfrew. This is a great place to eat or pickup some tasty cheeses or nice wines for the road.

It has an entrance closer to the street for the cheese shop where you buy some amazing food and drink items for the road. The second door past the outdoor patio is where the small restaurant and wine bar is. There are about 5-6 tables inside and more outside on the patio with heaters for each table and large furry blankets for each chair.

We didn’t have a lunch reservation but we could sit at a reserved table as long as we were finished in an hour, which fit our schedule.

They have some charcuterie and cheese trays but we chose some grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch.

My wife chose the Kind of Blue grilled cheese with creamy bleu d’auvergine cheese and mouthwatering house-made maple bacon jam. She said it was delicious!

I chose the Triple Cheese Melt with a cheddar, I think an Edam and another cheese. The sandwich was not big but it packed with flavour! The cheese pull on the sandwich was amazing, it was so gooey and so good!

We had some room for dessert so we shared a Blueberry Cheesecake. It so light and creamy a perfect way to finish the meal! They also have a very cool bathroom.

The sandwiches were just the right size and a nice meal on a cold, windy day. Stop by here for an amazing meal or some tasty provisions and wines for later!“

“We recently celebrated a birthday here and had a memorable dining experience. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, making us feel at home. The room itself is well decorated and the ambient Bossa Nova sound track provided a romantic backdrop to an excellent meal. We had the scallops as an appetizer and the chicken and lamb as mains finishing off with the creme brûlée and the chocolate mousse. Delicious! Each course was a well presented combination of flavours to savour. We enjoyed each one to the last bite. We would certainly recommend Atelier for a superior dining experience.“

“Curtis and Eva were the heart of our stay at WOODS on Pender. The enthusiasm Curtis shows for each site’s design is surpassed only by the care and skill he puts into the pastries he prepares at Coffee + Kitchen each morning. I would eat the vegetarian mini quiche every day if I could and the cinnamon bun and pear tarts were some of the best pastries we have ever had. Dinner was also excellent, highly recommend the pad thai!“
