“Today, I was so hungry that I ordered the chicken shawarma rice and the chicken shawarma rice plate—and honestly, it was the best meal I’ve ever had! The chicken was juicy, perfectly seasoned, and packed with flavor, while the rice was soft and fragrant, making every bite absolutely delightful. I’ve had shawarma before, but nothing compares to this!

I was so impressed that I started joking with the chef, asking him to share the secret recipe. He just smiled and said, “Always do everything with a fool’s heart.” That moment made the experience even more special—it showed how much love and passion they put into their food.

The staff was warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere of the shop felt inviting and authentic. You can tell that every dish is made with care.

“I was going to leave 5 stars because campus doesn’t have the best shawarma spots and this is *relatively* good so far, but I had a few suggestions I hope this place can implement to be improve:

The first time I ordered shawarma on fries, it was extremely good. Fresh and hot, plus tasted great. The second time, the chicken was unfortunately stale and not even warm, and the fries seemed like they’d been thrown in the fryer multiple times.

Both times, my food container was covered in grease and/or sauce that made my hands dirty on the go. Not the biggest deal, but I hope staff can be mindful about this as it changes the experience.

I hope they continue serving fresh and hot food rather than leftovers or stale food.“

“I love love love this place. I've only ever done Doordash so I have no idea what it's like inside or if the people who run it are nice, but they seriously stuff those takeout containers with delicious food so they're definitely generous. The mixed chicken/beef platter is my favorite, but we also love the tabblouleh. The rice is in the platter is wonderful. It looks pretty standard, even a little boring (it looks like it's going to be flavourless), but it is seasoned so nicely and is always cooked perfectly. The meats are super flavourful and have crispy edges, and the hummus and little salad that come with the platter are both perfect. The value is great - you get a lot of food for around $20, so much that we always have leftovers. My new Doordash favourite!“

“Food quality at this location is good & consistent. Serving portions are quite hefty. Good value for your dollar. I usually get the Hawaiian beef donair but today I had chicken rice platter. Very tasty.

“I've been to many Pakistani restaurants but Karakoram Restaurant stands out for its authentic flavors and generous portions. The karahi was spicy and savory, and the basmati rice was fluffy and fragrant. The staff were friendly and attentive and the prices were very reasonable. I'll be back for more of their delicious dishes!“

The food…delicious, the atmosphere… unique & cozy, the service… we are always treated like family and we were honoured to be included in their 50th Anniversary celebration this year. “As usual, I ordered the shawarma platter and the quality is on par with most other establishments in the area. (Although the chicken used to be better when they prepared it on the spit. Now it's done in a convection oven)
I particularly like the whipped garlic sauce they offer. Which I don't see this in many other middle eastern restaurants. The hummus is also light and fluffy.
The Saj wrap was a nice change from traditional pita bread wrap.
I would and will eat here again when I am in the neighborhood“

“I'll try not to now waste your time - this place is really friendly, clean and serves really solid food with excellent portions for decent prices. I live in the neighborhood, and actual get take out there a few times a week. I do like me some donair meat, and every once in a while I go on a rampage lol. I usually get the beef platter, but I've been known to get the chicken, lamb or a combo. It's good food, what more can an honest donair fan ask for? I'll bet the majority of folks will really like it. Oh and the hummus is really good as well. Good food, very nice people, family run - it's nice to have a decent donair place in the neighborhood.“

“Love this place, except that not all staff are on the same page with how to fill their spoons when making the wraps. Shouldn’t have to ask to have a proper amount — a tsp of filling isn’t sufficient. 2nd time I’ve had a wrap and the first few bites are only pita because it isn’t full.

Normally can get 2 servings out of 1 because they’re big and full! But not always, depends on who makes it-_- which is kinda annoying.“
