“I was here for lunch. The persian food and location is awesome. Its right on Stevestons village with beautiful ocean view.
The ambience and service is awesome. People are friendly and helped me to understand the authentic persian food.

We had appies cauliflower dish and eggplant dish with soft persian bread. The eggplant spread with bread is the killer. Must try. Loved it.

The main course lamb shark, prawn biryani and other chicken dish are good. Liked the saffron flavoured rice and well cooked lamb shank. The biryani is also good however it is different from
How Biryani cooked in India food. At the end we had Baclava dessert with persian Chai. I never had such authentic flavourful baclava. It has almost sprinkled on top and inside it is having cardamom flavour. Woow it was mouthful of flavour. Chai is also very tasty.
I would say, eggplant spread with bread as well Baclava dessert is must try at this place.“

“I'm a student at UBC and I usually order the penne pesto here, and it's actually really yummy! The pasta is consistently very creamy and savoury, the texture of the pasta is quite al dente, and the serving is rather generous and is able to sate my hunger. The food is also prepared at a really quick pace (like within 4-5 minutes), which is good because as a student, I can't really stick around in the same place for too long, so it's a really nice place to drop by when you have a 1 hour break between classes and need something good to eat.
I also tried the lamb shawarma which is also nice! But the penne pesto holds a special place in my heart and that's usually my go-to.“

I have been ordering from this place for years, I understand with the inflation and everything that they have the price increase, and I'm OK with that, but I'm not OK with the portion size. “Afghan Horseman never disappoints… my husband and I have been coming here for over 30 years and now it has become a favourite of our kids also. The food…delicious, the atmosphere… unique & cozy, the service… we are always treated like family and we were honoured to be included in their 50th Anniversary celebration this year. The karahi was spicy and savory, and the basmati rice was fluffy and fragrant. The staff were friendly and attentive and the prices were very reasonable. “Such a great find at Metrotown! The falafel plate was ginormous. You get so much for a decent price. I was lucky to get falafel made fresh. Great sides to add, and very vegetarian friendly. They also take Bravo which was a bonus for me and staff were very accommodating! Will be back“

“A great late-night option for wraps and platters, my personal preference.

Chicken/Lamb/Beef platters are $18.49 each, and my portion was happily hefty when I picked it up in person versus ordering via DoorDash/Uber Eats. It comes with Greek salad, 2x domaldes, 2 potatoes, rice, and a heap of meat that gets covered in 2 sauces of your choice.

I also ordered a side tabbouleh that I wish was more dominant with parsley, but it’s still decent, and quite filling with the extra quinoa.

The location was super clean, and the customer service was sincerely warm and friendly. Not sure what’s with all the negative reviews, but in my opinion, if you enter with a smile, you’ll get served with smiles in return.

“Their portion sizes are amazing! This wrap is so huge and perfectly balanced with lots of meat and veggies. Not even joking it’s like 2lbs and it’s only a regular size not a large. The people that work there are the kindest too! Amazing flavours, so worth the price (which is 9.99$ before tax) for this MASSIVE thing.“
