We are a big group visiting for conference for 3 days We tried there food on firstday of visit and believe me the only place on whole campus with delicious fresh and flavouful meals.

“East in east is a sensuous and satisfying experience, from start to finish. The restaurant's owner is passionate about their food and your pleasure in it. The portions are generous. They serve you with small cup of chai tea when you arrive, and take care to help you become familiar with the types of food they serve. There is a wandering violinist playing beautifully all evening, and also there are belly dance performances every evening as well. The prices are very reasonable, as portions are generous and plentiful. It's the best middle eastern food I have had, and I'm from Boston and San Francisco!“

“Went for a late night poutine and beef wrap after a concert and I could not have been happier. Super friendly and fast service. Generous portion and the beef wrap was very tender and full of veggies and flavors. I would definitely return if I'm in the area. One bonus, I forgot to buy a can of soda when ordering so when the food was ready I tried to buy a drink but the guy just comped it for me. What a guy! He even followed up with a food check to make sure we enjoyed our meal. Another note, the pic I took of the wrap doesn't do it justice. One more bite in and it would have showcased the plentiful veggies and sauce inside. Very good.“

“It's a small but generous place. The staff is very kind and generous. It's impossible for such people to serve you a bad meal. So, I recommend everyone who happens to be there to try it. And anyone who hasn't been there should definitely consider it. Stay well.“

“I used to love going here a few times a week… but I can’t really justify paying 17$-18$ for a donair. I used to come here all the time but now I just stay home. I come in every once in a while still but the recent price raise just kinda tipped me over the edge. I go to a cheaper place now or I eat in. Which in the long run has saved me. “I've been to many Pakistani restaurants but Karakoram Restaurant stands out for its authentic flavors and generous portions. The karahi was spicy and savory, and the basmati rice was fluffy and fragrant. The staff were friendly and attentive and the prices were very reasonable. The portions of food especially on the rice plates were huge, overflowing with meat and rice she could barely close the lid. Definitely get your monies worth. The quality of food and taste was fantastically delicious!!! The rice was some of the best I have ever had and the chicken so delicious, flavourful, and juicy.

“The portion is 30% less than before. I have been ordering from this place for years, I understand with the inflation and everything that they have the price increase, and I'm OK with that, but I'm not OK with the portion size. I still do love the food is always consistent with flavor, but definitely not happy with a portion. The meat had very little amount in there, And I was gonna charge two dollars for extra hot sauce, which I'm OK paying, but the container was so tiny“

“A great late-night option for wraps and platters, my personal preference.

Chicken/Lamb/Beef platters are $18.49 each, and my portion was happily hefty when I picked it up in person versus ordering via DoorDash/Uber Eats. It comes with Greek salad, 2x domaldes, 2 potatoes, rice, and a heap of meat that gets covered in 2 sauces of your choice.

I also ordered a side tabbouleh that I wish was more dominant with parsley, but it’s still decent, and quite filling with the extra quinoa.

The location was super clean, and the customer service was sincerely warm and friendly. Not sure what’s with all the negative reviews, but in my opinion, if you enter with a smile, you’ll get served with smiles in return.

“My husband and I have been coming here for almost 15 years since we were students at UBC. Even though we live far from UBC now, we keep coming back because this is one of the BEST Mediterranean places in Vancouver.

We've tried sooo many different Mediterranean restaurants in Vancouver since, but Donair Town is still #1 in terms of taste, consistency and price. Highly recommend their platter (the potatoes are crispy, the sauces are bomb, and the rice is so flavorful).
