Yummy food, good beer, need I say more
Had a wonderful time reading in a comfortable booth with fans nearby. Meaning it was hot out and they had standing fans by the place I chose to sit, not that I had a bunch of fans of my personality sitting in adjacent seats cheering me on. I chose to come here because I live near by but I was pleasantly surprised by a delicious serving of nachos and someone who knew what I wanted when I described my ideal beers to her. Thanks for looking after the entire restaurant with grace...read full review
Went to Howe Sound Brewing for a wee bite before going to a comedy show and we were pleasantly surprised. I can’t comment on the drinks but the food was soooo yummy and our Server, Beth, was pretty darn awesome too!! I will definitely be going back for lunch and or dinner again.

Howe Sound Taphouse & Kitchen has opened a new location in East Vancouver, featuring a tropical-themed atmosphere with bamboo trim and a spacious interior. Although the Squamish ski chalet theme is not present, there is a south-facing outdoor patio for those who enjoy the sun. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the draft beer selection is decent with super good, clean beer.
The East Van kitchen offers a variety of dishes, including pizzas available all day. Customers enjoy the Neopolitan-style pizzas, such as the Roni pizza with a perfect crust and jalapeño honey drizzle. The poutine and dirty fries are also well-liked. The venue is a great place for brunch events, serving an exquisite meatless Eggs Benny and Eggs Benny with artichoke and spinach. The food comes out fast and tastes amazing.
Service is friendly and quick, with staff who are super chatty and provide great customer service. The atmosphere has been described as a mix of funky dive bar and beer lounge, but the atmosphere would be greatly improved if they dimmed the lights. The venue lacks a sound system for sports events, as audio only comes from the TVs.
Despite these points, Howe Sound Taphouse & Kitchen in East Van is praised for its late operating hours, tasty food, and friendly service. It is recommended for those looking for a casual dining experience in the area, especially with the potential for cool events and happy hours like the fun Drag Brunch.
