My meeting was running late and I hadn't had lunch yet so this was the closest place to my meeting. I was debating between this and the pho place next door but that place had worse reviews so I decided to give this place a go. I ordered the big burger (mushrooms, bacon, cheese, and homemade patty). Decent old school diner somewhat near the seedy part of downtown. This place has been around forever. Parking is horrendous here. Not sure what to say. The venue is seriously a blast from the past. I wouldn't be surprised if they used the place to film movies set in the 1970s or 1980s. Fake wooden laminate counters, vinyl tables, and many classic posters showing the likes of Sylvester Stallone and Marilyn Monroe. I almost missed this place because of some of the negative reviews. Don't let that happen to you! In a spirit of deference and cordiality to other reviewers I will not use comments like effete, spoiled, arrogant or any such words. I will just say that the one and two star reviews express opinions to which I take exception. Smile gets a good review not for haute cuisine (there is a lovely Marriott a block away where you can get your hash slung by liveried wait staff for $20-$30),...read full review
