Sushi Nanaimo Reviews
food is good and nice service
Great variety and representation of Pacific seafood.
I brought some Dutch friends here who were used to Atlantic/European seafood, and they were impressed by the difference.
Its a really busy place for a Saturday. We were 2 people therefore less wait else its really packed and I would recommend reservations.
The staff were friendly even though they were only 2, to take, fulfill and clean up the orders from the tables. One of our orders was missed and we had to remind the staff. No complains there at all, since they were all worked up and yet smiling.
The food was delicious and tasty.
Recommend Beef Teriyaki and the Gangster Rolls. Will...read full review

Sushi Nanaimo offers a delightful dining experience with fresh and flavorful sushi, located at Hastings and Nanaimo street. The $31 set, which includes a variety of items, is praised for its generous portions and reasonable price. Customers appreciate the quality of the sushi, especially the Salmon Kama, which is described as a substantial meal on its own. The restaurant’s efficient seating and service contribute to a positive overall experience, though it can get busy, and waiting for a table might be necessary depending on the time of day. The food and atmosphere feel almost like Japan, with a mix of classic sushi items and some yummy more unique options. The staff are very friendly, and the food comes out fast. The Roll Combo, at $14.25, offers good value with a California Roll, Dynamite Roll, 1/2 Tuna Roll, and 1/2 Salmon Roll.
While some customers have noted that the portion sizes, such as for the spicy salmon sashimi, can vary and have decreased over time, the overall experience remains positive. The restaurant is seen as a local gem worth returning to, as the sashimi is fresh and flavorful, with thick cuts that enhance the experience. The beautiful chirashi bowl, packed with salmon, tuna, tai, tamago, tako, and tobiko, is a highlight, especially when mixed with their Korean spicy sauce. For those who prefer cooked items, there's the crispy takoyaki and savory ramen that satisfy comfort food cravings. Overall, Sushi Nanaimo is a go-to neighborhood sushi spot for many, with cozy vibes and great food.
