“Hey so the food was amazing. Our server was really sweet in the start but in the end he was kind of rude. I thought tipping is optional and not a requirement. I do understand servers heavily relying on tips but that shouldn’t be a customer’s responsibility to ensure that the server can support himself. Tipping could be expected from older people who can afford to go all out on their dinner but expecting and almost demanding tips from students who work and study just to support themselves is kind of ridiculous. I work in retail and I don’t get tipped and i don’t make it the customers issue to pay my rent. I’m extremely sorry for the long rant but please understand how frustrating it can be to be expected to pay more when your maximum is the minimum wage where as the server’s least is the minimum wage. I asked my server to refill my Coke which he kindly did. But by the Time he did , my food was done and I didn’t really drink it. Now i was under the assumption that refilling the Coke was free as it is at browns , cactus etc. I didn’t know that my server was doing it for free which i really do appreciate. But after clicking the no tip he literally told me that he refilled my Coke for me for free and that next time I would be expected to pay. I mean you could’ve just simply told me before i paid the bill that filling the Coke comes with a charge which I would’ve been happy to pay instead of being so rude.“

“2026 June update: Things have really gone downhill since I first visited 9 years ago. You really get the sense that they stopped trying. Whether it’s the oily fish, the slopped nachos or the $4+ Buble soda water, the overall experience was like a Brooklyn coffee shop. I know it’s east Van but dingey, overpriced, unkempt (and dare I say - entitled) just doesn’t do it.

At least put the meagre portion of tater tots in a right-sized bowl so it doesn’t feel like the kitchen helped themselves to a few as the dish made its way out.

Unfortunate. I should add that it’s location-specific as other locations seem to be a bit more tightly run.

2017: No frills menu but every bit as delicious as you have heard. Closed between 3 and 5. Fish taco is personal favorite. The pork jowl meet seemed a bit tough and stringy but the toppings more than made up for it.“
