“Really comfortable brewery/distillery to stop in and grab a pint and a bite. The beer selections i had was delicious and refreshing. Although I didn't find the menu of food particularly appealing, your needs are probably different than mine, so have at it. The people working there were friendly and knew about their beers. Definitely stop in. If I find myself there again, I'll be trying the gin and whiskey.“

“Tried a pilot mango wheat here, and it was delicious and refreshing, and very smooth with a strong mango flavor. Definitely needs to become part of the permanent summer lineup. I have had other mango wheat beers from different breweries and this was by far the best one. Clearly the brewer knew what they were doing with this one. The rest of the beer is very good too!“

“My partner and I came here on NYE, and had a great experience. No cover charge, a truly expansive and delicious local beer/cider menu (with unique flavours), and the staff was very friendly. The owner offered everyone NYE swag (kazoo, hats and so on) as well as free snacks (pork sliders, fruits etc) after the countdown. We had a lovely time and will certainly be back on another visit to Victoria!“

“I came here with my son-in-law gor a pint as he had been here before. It was a bright, sunny day, so when we walked in, it took a minute or two for my eyes to adjust to the darkness.
One of the claims to fame for Big Bad John's is the collection of bras that women have left behind in order to get a free t-shirt. By the looks of things, there are a lot of braless women wearing Big Bad John's t-shirts. And if you don't want to give up your bra, you can just buy a T-shirt. No men's underwear or jock straps hanging in the bar, so I guess there is no free t-shirt option for men!
We did come up with new names for the house band, such as Uncle Whiskey and the Dusty Bras or Whiskey Dick and the Dusty Bras.
Besides all the Bras, there is paper money all over the walls with messages and names of past patrons. There is too much to read in a single visit. Salted peanuts in the shell are in small plastic buckets 🪣 at each table. Eat the peanuts and throw the shells on the floor. The occasional surprise for newcomers.
This place needs to be a stop for cruise passengers!

“Chicken and ribs were great but steaks were salty, poorly cooked and dry (raw then overcooked dry). Staff was excellent and we've had one great steak there (last year) but now the bad steaks outnumber the good and they now marinate in what seems a salty smoke marinade. Ribs were great though... and service was excellent.“

“Nice place to eat, very large place with plenty of seating. We sat outside and it was hot this day but shaded mostly under the umbrella. The food was good, excellent portions and they had great DF/ GF options even deep fried pickles. The service was meh, Waitress asked if we wanted more drinks and I asked for a second beer. That beer never came, never seen the waitress until it was time to pay. I had to go in ask ask the bartender for a box for our left over food. When she finally came to collect cash for the bill she was like oh ya I forgot the beer...“

“We decided to try this place to get away from regular everyday sushi. It is amazing, all the dishes we ordered were perfectly made and tasted amazingly fresh. The place is a bit more expensive but it is worth it.

Also try out the Corso Sweet Potato Amber beer. It's really good.“

“We have eaten at Milestones Victoria many times and the evening of August 3rd , was no different in that we were very impressed with every aspect of the experience! This was a very busy evening due to the Symphony Splash event and the long weekend, yet as usual the experience was lovely! The food is delicious and served with large portions. The Servers are always very pleasant, taking the time to talk and share experiences even though we know they are very busy! Servers and Management are always willing to accommodate to your requests and needs! We have never felt rushed to leave and have always felt very welcome! We also learned this past evening the Management are working hard to minimize food waste, which is very commendable. Thank you to all of the Staff.“

The music was not loud (I think that was a problem at their last location but) the level was totally talkable for a nice evening out with my husband. I’m loving this new trend of amazing food served with Michelin level service in the most laid back casual setting where my husband can wear crocs with his nice outfit and I can come in with hair my baby just yanked out. Anyway.. I guess what would’ve pushed for five stars was a little darker lighting and a candle on the tables. The food does warrant a bit of la-di-da.

Our server was on point - he knew about the dishes we asked about and helped us decide. Loved him. Super friendly and made the vibe feel less pretentious.

The chef came over and told us exactly what was in our dishes (we asked - there was some “fish sauce salt” in the herb salad - so freaking good, that little nuance of *chefs kiss* something wonderful).

We ate: Brussels sprouts (fifteen seconds too long in the pan) with miso and tahini and pomegranate arils (what a combo); chef Etienne’s pig head broth (wowza!! Yummo - could eat all day) with buckwheat noodles and pigs head); sticky Asian trotters with potatoes, spicy jus and lovely herb salad; an exquisite Syrah; bread pudding with rummy caramely goodness (not pictured).

“Easily my favourite place for music, drinks and dancing. There are tables and games but it's all about the dance floor and atmosphere. If there's a band or a theme night, you might have to wait in the line, but it usually moves quickly.“
