“Flat iron steaks were very good, perfectly cooked. We agree with some of our friends, though, who think halibut fish and chips is a waste of very good fish. Halibut dries out a bit more than cod, so, while better tasting in other recipes, is no better than cod--but significantly more costly--when battered. This isn't a complaint about the quality of Blue Heron fish and chips; cod would simply be a better, certainly more traditional, choice for this preparation. The kitchen was very slow preparing our meals. We were with family we hadn't seen for a while, so this wasn't irritating. But it probably would have been under other circumstances.“
“I love the vibe this little town has, all year round. There's so much beauty for a smaller vicinity. There's lots to do in Birch Bay, especially during spring and summer. The state park has a beautiful campground, there's the water park, beaches, a candy shop, go carts, and lots more! It's my favorite part of Whatcom County!“
“We had dinner here for our 40th.I’ll give you my take but that doesn’t mean it’s the same for everyone.First, they missed a huge opportunity in that we came there for our 40th and not one person, reservationist, host or waitress asked if it was a special occasion. We drove more than an hour to get there from a referral of a friend.Steaks were perfectly cooked. Perfect.Steaks were between good and great-8/10.Potatoes were excellent-9/10.Cream spinach was also excellent-9/10.My wine was good, 7/10.My wife’s drink was better, 8/10.Atmosphere was kind of a let down. The bar area was playing Rudolph, strange I guess but maybe someone in there wanted to watch it??? The overall feel is kind of blah for what it’s trying to be.The waitress was great. German accent and very personable. Attentive and precise. We didn’t have dessert.I’d say the overall rating would be 4.6 for me. If they had asked about a special occasion it could have been higher. You’re not paying for 5.0 here so I wasn’t expecting it to be an excellent experience and it was as expected I guess.“
“My husband and I went there last night for the first time and drinks were great and food was amazing. Can't remember the gals name who served us but she was quick and very nice. Will definitely Be going back there again. Environment was very cozy for a bar and I loved it. Very clean and nice atmosphere. 2 pool tables as well. Plenty of seating and the booth was really comfortable which is hard to find at a bar usually.“
“Chef harmeet singh is a great host.Tandoori chicken: Tender chicken with spicy marinade, cooked in a clay oven for a crispy outside.Paneer: Soft cheese grilled to perfection, creamy and slightly smoky. Both are popular Indian dishes, full of delicious flavors.“
“Very good service from some beautiful ladies! The food was delicious and served within ten minutes from ordering, generous helpings made the two appetizers enough for two men with an appetite! I will be back for the food and the eye candy ?“
“Us old "foggies" love the beer shack. We even sometimes like to call it "Sawbucks South" because they love the 70s cover bands and even let us dance! Beers are ok but location is most important. I feel like there's not enough places around here that cater to our generation so I'd like to say thank you.“
“My family & I had a really nice experience at the restaurant. Dongmei was lovely & attentive & made sure we were all taken care of. The food was fresh, delicious & flavourful! The Shanghai noodles were delicious & ordered twice!Vegetarian options: Assorted vegetables & rice, tofu option“
“Fantastic place. Restaurant is wheelchair friendly (bathrooms are not). Food is amazing, service is friendly, prices are decent and drinks are great! Highly recommended. Bonus: Friday's is $6 dollar burger plus fries/JoJo or coleslaw day and pull tabs that you throw on the floor for a bit of extra added fun!“
“The best spot in White Rock, whether lunch, happy hour or late night drinks. OB has a great menu selection, attentive service and awesome view. The owner, Frank, is a gem and goes above and beyond for guests, both new and regular customers. I've been twice now and look forward to my next visit!“
“Went for my sister's birthday dinner with the family waitress Teagan was awesome and so was the food Loved that they had so many gluten free options. They even had free birthday dessert. Highly recommend ?Dietary restrictions: Loved how they had so many gluten free options usually have a hard time finding restaurants with gluten free option here they had a whole gf menu and even baked my yam fries tto ensure no cross contamination“
“Had a fantastic lunch with work colleagues here. Food was excellent and the service from all the staff was great. Our server was polite and very attentive to our table. He made sure when taking our order to double check that he got everything correct before submitting the order. Also kept our drinks topped up and made sire we were happy with everything. Excellent experience all around!“
“We were there for a birhday dinner and sat at the Bar One area, which is adjacent to the Denny's side. The ambiance is nice and modern. Food selections were different than the Denny's menu but you can order from both. The Chili Lime chicken bowl, chicken tacos were delicious. The Thai chili bites were tasty but the texture was crumbly. The highlight of this place however is the excellent customer service, especially from Cash Thank you for a memorable dinner!“
“Original Joes is my favourite restaurant ever. I have been enjoying this place for years and it never disappoints, my friends and I always have the best experience when we get Original Joes. The buffalo chicken wrap is the best item on the menu and probably my favourite food to eat. The bruschetta fettucine is a close second. Oj's will always be the best restaurant around for comfort food. PS: order the crinkle fries with dill dip and ask them to toss the fries in mango habanero spice... it is to die for.“
“Very happy with the food and service here. Had the Nashville chicken bites to start, they are super spicy, crispy yet tender, really good! Had the BBQ steak salad for the main dish. The bourbon BBQ sauce is really tasty. Delicious steak. The salad was great too. Portion size was perfect. I tried the house Antler Ale since a 20oz draft beer is 7$ on Thursdays. Also had a glass of fresh lemonade. The atmosphere is very pleasant as well. I look forward to eating here again.“
“What a great location! We rolled in with a sports team (24 people) unannounced, and they staff were really accommodating. The manager informed us the service may be slow, however they knocked it out of the park. We were all served within 20mins, and the waitress was so friendly!Parking: Lot's of parking, even for big busses.“
“I went last night to earls and the service was unreal. I've never seen such great service. Our server was on top of it and just made my experience a 6 star. She was fun and engaging young woman. The food was cooked the best I've ever had . I cant wait to get back again. I still have so much more to write. Thanks again for a great experience.“
“Great overall breakfast and lunch spot. The menu offers a nice variety from biscuits & gravy, omelettes & scrambles, soup & sandwich, and even some Mexican inspired dishes. The food all has a homey, handmade feel. A lot of the menu feels creative, soups seem house made, jam comes in a cup instead of a plastic packet, lot of nice touches. The bar has nice lattes and chai to wake you up or even mimosas and palomas if you're feeling like one.The staff is consistently fantastic and always accommodating. I dropped in one day with a large group of friends and family, everyone was taken care of, everyone enjoyed their food, even the kids were happy. The indoor seating area is roomy with big tables with comfy chairs. There's a small outdoor seating area too, which is somewhat dog-friendly. Staff is kind, offering treats and water too.Parking: There's lots of parking space in the back with a rear entrance to the cafe. Parking in the front is street only which can be difficult.Kid-friendliness: There's a small kids menu with a good variety of options. French toast, oatmeal, fruit cups, to name a few.“
