Victoria is lucky to have KAPPO Marta around. Service was first-class from the moment we walked in. Shrimp Gyoza was light yet incredibly moist inside - a delicate balance done just right. The Oyako Don was done to perfection, with delicious pickled garnishes. Chirashi Don was exactly what I was hoping for, and though squid may not be my favorite, every fish in the bowl was unique and tasty. Visually stunning, by the way.

To be honest, one of my now favorite spots in all of Victoria. Definitely coming back - thank you for a great meal!“

“This is one of Victoria's highlights. Bunny's is a hidden gem of a cafe and one of the few places to get a decent latte, flat white, or cappuccino. The food is good, but the atmosphere is cozy and community-oriented. The best way to describe Bunny's is that it's like coming back home for the first time. We're originally from Ontario, and stepping into Bunnie's, it was a quality cafe experience without any of the pretentiousness downtown. Just make sure you have some time to kill because once you get to the cafe, you won't want to leave, and they do close early.“

“We really enjoy coffee and treats and occasionally lunch in this lovely spot. The staff are great, the venue charming. The outdoor water views are beautiful. The only thing I would suggest, is to add few savoury baked goods, for those of us without a big sweet tooth. Savoury scones, sausage rolls etc for a small sustaining snack😊“

“So, this was a take a picture before I ate fail; I even forgot to take a picture of my empty tray. But thankfully, there were some very kind people at Wheelies who allowed me to take a shot of another sandwich before it went out to the customer who ordered it.

I had their special and it was delicious. A masterfully creative play on a Big Mac (my inference - apologies if I got that wrong). It was supremely satisfying and a flavour explosion. So many things on their menu look absolutely outstanding. I can't wait to go back and work my way through it, and also their cocktails menu.

I'm gonna give a special mention to Working Culture who pointed me in the direction of Wheelies. They were on my to patronise list for today as I continued my search for amazing sandwiches, but alas, they were out. I'll pre-order next time.

“I highly recommend this small, cozy, homey place. The staff/owners are so friendly and the cook/chef, a wonderfully friendly woman came out a few times and chatted. I came for the German meal tonight and it was fantastic. The red cabbage was like my mom used to make and the schnitzel was pounded into perfection! Topped off with an awesome Black Forest … all deeeelicious.“

“Oh wow, this just became my favourite cafe in the city—hands down. If the super great used book selection and array of African and West Asian vinyl (new and OP) wasn’t an indication this place is run by some wickedly cool people, the excellent coffee and food selection would still make this place marvelous and quite special.

We got apple cider, a latte, the orange-pumpkin tart and some savory bites and we got two books and we’ll definitely be back! Thanks for being cool Torch Song!“

“Poncho's is my go to place every time I'm in Langford. It's convienently located and the staff who works there are the kindest and friendliest.
Loooots of options for food, snacks, lunch, savoury and sweet pastries, you name it! Coffee is good as well and they always have some specials on the board.
I'd give them 6 stars if I could :)“

“We were visiting Victoria and by chance met Fadi- one of the owners who told us about his family’s cafe. We LOVE Lebanese food so decided to check it out for lunch. We had chicken shawarma donairs and tabouleh and loved it. But most of all his family is so kind and warm and the cafe is super cute! Thank you!“

We are glad the server recommended Chicken 65 as it was truly delicious alongside the flavourful chutneys. The chef owner chatted with us about the traditional ways and ingredients they use. “Fantastic!!!! The food was truly amazing and the prices are so reasonable! The bacon was thick and chewy and crispy- just perfect! Of course the biscuits were exceptional and perfectly cut and toasted. I had the egg and bacon Sammy and added tomatoes and avocado. Perfect!!! Group of 6 all raved! A diverse, spread on a theme, and I'm not a gravy fan and it too was delicious. The special steak had homemade dips and stuff, and the vege was it was incredibly complex and yummy looking. I WILL BE BACK!!! The baked goods looked fantastic, but I'm so full!“

“I’ve been getting takeout coffee here nearly every morning since I started working downtown. They open at 6:30, but were kind enough to take my order at 6:15 such great service! I grabbed a coffee and the English Breakfast Muffin (aka EBM), and it was way tastier than anything you’d get at a fast food spot. The cakes and pastries are also very good, and I believe they’re made in-house, which makes them extra special. The prices are exceptionally reasonable too. This is great place and the wonderful people who run it. Perfect place to start the day. I always leave very satisfied!“

“I had to type this out rather than use speech to text as my husband has constantly been mmm-ing and ugh-ing (in a good way) ever since he ate a few of the take home dinners this evening. In our almost twenty years together, I have never seen food elicit such a reaction from him. To say it was delicious (pun not intended) is an understatement. My whole household was praising the meals.

The coffee and pastries which were what originally drew us in were delectable (I almost wrote delicious again)! There was plenty of shaded outdoor seating. It would be easy to also grab a treat and walk to the oceanfront. We will definitely be back!“

“Spent 4 days at UVic for my daughter’s Performing Arts Provincials, and this little coffee shop became our morning routine. Every day started with their smooth delicious cappuccino and a simple, satisfying breakfast—reasonably priced and consistently good.

I also love you have a sliding scale so people who can afford it can donate or even order a meal themselves. The only reason I am giving four stars instead of five is because ordering on line is a little too complicated. I am happy to give suggestions to improve this if asked. When I go on holidays the fellow I help goes without meals.

Just read about the business and what its purpose is and I find this extremely incredible, having found out I have adhd and some other things going on in the past few years this really helps with being myself. “I can't believe I didn't know about this place sooner! The owner is so sweet, the coffee is good (and cheap!!!), it's quiet, the tables are spread out so no one's talking bothers you. I got like 2 hours of studying/work done, and then had a calzone for lunch. The food is okay, but its like 6$ for lunch. This is a must for any student who can't study at home, and out of office meetings- take your meeting/client for a stroll and grab a latte! I will most certainly be back often to finish my assignments and then simply to enjoy watching downtown passing by!“

“Just a nice place to get some good comfort food. The volunteers are great and so helpful as are the paid student summer help. The money earned goes to a lot of very deserving non profits.“

“The cafe in the UVic MacPherson Library has the usual light eats and coffee/tea menu. There’s actually a fairly wide selection of sandwiches and baked goods. The variety of Numi tea is nice; I like their teas. The sandwiches are all of the prepackaged variety, but I thought my smoked salmon bagel was pretty good given that. The only complaint was that the greens on it were a little past fresh, and the bagel was just cold and probably would’ve been better warm or at least room temp. The salmon thankfully was fresh enough. It tasted like it would’ve been a really good sandwich if it had been freshly made, and I honestly prefer that over a fresh but mediocre sandwich. Note that I was there on Sunday, so it’s possible the selection may be fresher during the week. I also got a vegan cherry brownie which was great, chewy and moist, not too sweet. For a little university cafeteria I thought it was pretty good.
There’s lots of seating here but it is a library, so lots of students studying made it pretty busy, and this was Sunday, so while I was able to get a table without struggle, I would imagine it would be harder on weekdays. It was, as far as I was aware, the only place open on campus on a Sunday midday besides Starbucks and dining halls.“

“Used this cafe for a quick breakfast when staying at the hotel. It has a good range of drinks and breakfast, brunch and afternoon tea items all of which appeared to be reasonable quality and the ones we had tasted fine.
As others have mentioned it is a little expensive but there aren't many options within a short distance. Also it gets busy and there can be a queue“
