“Overall, I had a good experience at Abu Omar Halal. The service was excellent, friendly, fast, and deserving of 5/5.

The shawarma itself was good, but there are two areas that could make a big difference. The garlic sauce was decent (3/5), but it could be richer and more flavorful. The biggest disappointment was the pickles (0/5). I highly recommend making the pickles in-house using an authentic Mediterranean recipe instead of the current ones.

With a better garlic sauce and authentic homemade pickles, the shawarma would be on another level. I hope they consider these improvements because the service and overall quality already provide a strong foundation.“

“I'm so used to getting rice that is room temperature at best. So I ordered the chicken shawarma rice bowl, and the first thing I notice is the rice is warm . . . like really warm. I also have a fear of really hot spicy food because it makes me sick. No problem here - the chicken was so delicious, and not "hot" spicy at all. Just a really great flavor. My friend ordered the same, and her reaction was the same. Great flavor, so tasty! The service was great too! But the very best part was the size of the serving - it was such a generous serving, I had to ask for a to-go container, and enjoyed it again later that day. The restaurant was light, bright and clean. I totally recommend this restaurant.“

The Egyptian food is absolutely delicious – authentic, flavorful, and feels just like home. 😋 The portions are very generous, and the prices are really affordable, which makes it even better. The service was excellent; the staff were so kind, welcoming, and always smiling, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for real Egyptian cuisine. “This restaurant is outstanding. I grew up in Egypt where kabob is a main dish. I struggled to find in Southern California a really authentic kabob place that feels like home kabob until I found this restaurant. Literally, I eat ant this restaurant every day. Not to mention, the place is very clean, and the staff is very friendly. I actually lived in several States; I have been in Southern California for three years; and I am so glad that I finally managed to find this restaurant. Truly, it is a “Divine mediterranean” restaurant.“

“Absolutely amazing! I got the combo kebab plate with chapli & lamb. The chapli was so amazing. The lamb was also perfectly cooked which is hard to come by. Usually the salad that comes with these combos is just ehhh but I actually liked this one. It came with a spicy, cilantro-ey dressing that was delicious. I ended up pouring over my rice as well. Would recommend.“

“Awesome food and great service. Atmosphere is what one would expect a strip mall food joint to be. Garlic paste seemed to be house made but the harissa seemed to be sambal oulek (an Asian chili sauce) everything else is really really good, especially the rice.“

“Fast and friendly service. I like the current loyalty points system- so much easier than hunting for an app, login info, rewards, erc. All you need is your phone number. I got the protein bowl with chicken and it was excellent. Nice and bright inside too. They do school fundraisers which brought me out to lunch today, and the experience was well worth it.“
