“First visit ever. Was a little lost upon entering. 10 people standing around, but none at the counter. Didn’t know who was in line. I watched for a minute or two. No staff made eye contact with me, but occasionally a name was called out, and someone would walk up and get their order. Turned out they’d ALL already ordered. I started trying to figure out their menu. Watched it flash thru several times, while trying to find what I knew I already wanted (a dozen large). Never saw it, and no staff member had still made eye contact with me, though all were busy. Finally figured out I needed to step up to a small kiosk screen at the counter and place my own order (next time will try the app). Ultimately got my order placed (nice system at the kiosk), and order came quickly. Cookies were great and well received by all.“

“Went there and the conchas were really soft and still warm which was a good sign. Although not all the pastries that i seen online were there. Which were not ready but you can actually see them making the new Bach of pastries while inside which was cool. And it's not pricey like other places.“

“Every time I venture into the mall, Auntie Anne's Pretzels is a stop I can't resist. Their pretzels are consistently fresh, light, and delicious with just the right amount of salt. In my opinion, they really do make the best pretzels around! I've tried other places, but none compare to the quality these guys provide.
What stands out, aside from the pretzels, is the service. I’ve never had a negative experience at this location – the staff is friendly and efficient, making it a pleasant part of my shopping experience. If you’re ever in the mall and craving a tasty snack, I definitely recommend giving Auntie Anne's a try!“

They now have several different satellite shops in Bakersfield, along with their main bakery on Union Ave.Try their thumb print cookies, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like them.“

“We did not get a cinnabon. We got the Carvel Sunday. The prices are high but we come here just for the Carvel ice cream. For soft serve, it's pretty awesome. The girl was so nice and put the Sunday together just like my daughter asked for it. The chicken on a stick at the checkout looks so freaking good. I did not get it though because ...My concern was how long had all that food been sitting out there. There were mountains of chicken. Do they really sell it all in the required amount of time? I didn't see how that was possible. It sure looked crispy and delicious though. We were on a road trip and I didn't want to get sick by eating old chicken. This is a newer gas station and there is so much great junk food to eat here. So if you're on a road trip, you definitely should pop by nice atmosphere and nice people. Hopefully they'll respond here about whether all that chicken was just for display or if it really does sell out in the hour.“

“Angelica's on Niles has some great Mexican sweet bread and some great birthday and wedding cakes at great prices, we have been several times to buy some sweet bread or a few birthday cakes and 1 wedding cake and we have been nothing but extremely satisfied with all there items“

“We got glazed and cream filled chocolate donuts, which were absolutely delicious and fresh! The staff were beyond kind and friendly to speak with. The iced vanilla coffee was also tasty and not too sweet. The ham, egg, and cheese croissant breakfast sandwich was delicious, warm, and crispy! The shop is super clean and organized! “Prices went up since I last remember for my Bakersfield visits. This location does not get much product for sell and difficult when you have limits available. Thump cookies were 3+ days old which is a bit odd to continue to sell so I did not buy the kids the small cookies. Wish they had more availability.“

“Smiths cookies are the best! My memories of the smiley faced cookies goes all the way back to the 1960’s and they are as delicious today as they were then! Now my grandkids get to enjoy them. The staff are always kind and helpful. Love the White Lane location and highly recommend Smiths for any baked good they offer!

“I really like this place, if you are looking for a dessert that is not too heavy and not too sweet this is your place the mango moose cake was amazing, light and not overly sweet as well as the Ube cake. Their spicy chicken empanadas were also really good! Well definitely come back for more of their cakes“

“Went in the other day for the first time to get a quote for a cake...came in and the lady there was arguing with someone on the phone with them on speaker mode. It seemed that the lady calling wasnt getting a good customer service attention. The lady at the bakery was speaking in a loud voice and didn't care for us being there listening for the argument going on. We left a week later came back because we wanted to get a cake for my daughter's birthday bought it and left. She was very blunt and in a bad mood that day. So just left. The cake was gross and salty I don't recommend this place!“

“The bolias are delicious here. You simply grab a tray & tongs, then go around the bakery picking out every individual yummy baked good you want, take it to the register, pay & enjoy. Reminds me of the old fashioned bakeries growing up on the East Side. Parking is a bit difficult & there's a 50 cent charge to use debit/credit but well worth the visit to this hidden gem on Union between Pacheco & Fairview.“

“Smith’s Bakery is a gem of a place in Bakersfield, truly amazing. Everything I’ve had from there for the 25 years I’ve been going there has been nothing but the best. But my God, are they overpriced. They raised their prices dramatically during the pandemic, which I understand to a point. But now they appear to be arbitrarily raising prices just because. And it happens in such a short amount of time that it’s kind of pitiful. For example, they raised the price of a box of their thumbprint cookies by $2 in ONE month. What justifies THAT much of a cost increase in such a short period of time?“
