“If I could give this place 10/5 I would! At first I thought the place was sketchy at first but most good places do lol Franchise chicken places hardly have any meat on their chicken and the grocery stores always make their chicken too salty. TOTALLY DIFFERENT GAME HERE! Went here one day for a chicken plate and the pieces had plenty of meat, hardly greasy, lightly seasoned, and overall tasted like good ol home cooking 🤤. Just came here again to try their fish and shrimp and again, it was excellent. Most fish and shrimp places drown their fish in thick bread-like batter that makes you feel sick in a few bites. Here however, the fish and shrimp are fried in a seasoned thin peppery flour mix, basically a thin batter 🤤. I don't think I can go anywhere else for fried chicken and fish. JUST BE SURE TO AIR OUT THE FOOD TO LET IT COOL DOWN WHEN YOU GET IT!! YES! ITS THAT FRESH! AND THAT GOOD!“

“Old-school (nostalgic) fish and chips joint that prepares a quality plate. Properly battered and fried fish, coleslaw, fries, hush puppies, etc. Nice service. Always clean. Fish fried to order. I have spent a few lunch breaks in this place without disappointment. Oh, and by the way, did I mention they serve good tarter sauce and malt vinegar with the plates? If you love fish and chips, come to this place.“

“Hidden Gem Alert! This place feels like the last of a vanishing species: the true mom-and-pop shop. The moment I walked in, I felt that familiar pang of recognition: something only children of immigrants might understand. There's a look to it, unmistakable: the storefront window with its slightly uneven finish, the fridge in the corner where you're trusted to help yourself to a drink, the owner who is both cashier and cook, moving seamlessly between roles with the ease of someone who has built their life around this place, the old manual register till that doesn't suggested tips starting at 20%.... Just incredible food served on a humble dixie plate. And, of course, the quiet generosity; this is the kind of business that sponsors the local little league team without forms, applications, or committees. Just heart and an honorable plaque with the team picture to show for it.

When my fish taco arrived, I surprised myself by tearing up. The batter was perfectly crisp, the vegetables freshly cut by hand.... each piece even only in the most human way, and the fries golden and crunchy. The food was more than good; it was grounding, nostalgic, even moving. It tasted like care, like memory, like a small miracle served on a plate at a price you can actually afford. CASH only!

“Placed an order online for pick up, parking is a little tricky due to a lot of 7 Eleven traffic but i drove around once and it cleared up quick, be patient. I ordered the 10 wing with a side. The wings were well cooked, I like my wings crispy. Flavor was the Honey pepper garlic, it was pretty good. The onion rings have alot of batter they taste so good. The combo came with a soda and two ranch. Will be recommending this place to everyone.“

This is the best fish and chip left in all of Southern california, with the best most competitive price and a nice quaint restaurant.

I have probably come back here 10-15 times ever since I've written this review - and it only keeps getting better.
If you want to take someone to the best fish and chips in the city, bring them here. This place cannot be beat.

They have many other things including hush puppies and chicken fingers, but they make the MOST AUTHENTIC ENGLISH fish and chip in the entire Los Angeles area.

“Went close to closing asked my mother to pick up food. Fish was fried hard, was so little, and tight. Tried calling back but they were closed. I took pictures to show them so I can get my hard earned money back. Can’t even eat it so hard and tight. So disappointing.

“I thought the fish, zucchini and Cole slaw were quite tasty, the gentlemen who took my order was very friendly, and it didn’t take very long for my order. My only suggestion is to go a little before or after lunch hour because it gets very busy.“

“Service was really good which is always a must for me.
The amount of food I got in my boil bag was good as well for the price. I got crab and shrimp lb of each. The only thing is their gumbo base is a little more thin than I personally like and light on flavor. I also got the jumbo shrimp plate and they weren’t really jumbo shrimp however they were really good flavor. Overall I would come back and I actually got it to go so I’d like to sit down and see how it is in the future. But usually if to go is good in house is good or better 😊“

“I’ve never been to this place because the area always scared me but I wish I came here sooner!! This place has one of the best tasting chicken in the area it was so good and the fries were pretty decent. The staff were friendly and give you large portions whenever you want Chinese food so that’s dope! It’s just a shame the area brings the place down.“

“I think most restaurants use some kind of inexpensive fish with the thought that once it's breaded and fried, no one will care. But the Slow Bell's haddock was thick, moist, and cooked just right. The fries were so good bare that I felt guilty using ketchup.“

“This place is somewhat outdated, however even with that being said, it's a nice atmosphere. Our waitress Sylvia was extremely attentive. She always had a smile! We never had to wait very long for our drinks or dinner. Bathrooms were very clean?

“This fast service restaurant has the best fries in Knott's--crinkle cut and fresh! Right now they are serving Hot Dogs and they have several types to choose from. We have liked all of them so far. This summer they are also having a weekly special, which is always good to have something new to try at each visit to Knotts!

“The food was so good, & we ate it so fast, didn't get a picture. But the food was not salty, nor bland. The tartar sauce even was tasty. We ordered the red snapper, reg shrimp, jumbo shrimp, wings. The seafood was not greasy, nicely seasoned. Definitely recommend.“

The menu is plenty and the cooks are great the staff is very nice and helpful if you're unsure of what you want. Very clean environment and fast service.
