“My first review! My visit here last night was nothing short of a revelation in the art of sushi dining. Celebrating its 17th year, this gem of a restaurant has not just stood the test of time; it has set the bar for what authentic Japanese cuisine can embody. Though it is not your modern izakaya nor fine-dining luxury, it firmly facets itself as the "OG" restaurant in the diverse Japanese dining scene. Immediately upon entering, I observed details of its classic entity by old decos of art, calligraphy, signs, photos, and handwritten notes. It was an ambiance that exuded warmth. I immediately felt the history and dedication woven into the fabric of this place. The owners have crafted not merely a restaurant but a sanctuary for those who appreciate the finer nuances of Japanese culture and cuisine. I opted for the sushi combo course. Each piece of sushi was a testament to the chef's mastery over his craft, with every ingredient shining through in a delicate balance of flavors and textures with a properly curated course. All the nigiri boasted freshness in a blend of tastes that was above satisfactory by the plate. But what truly sets Sushi Anza apart is the heart and soul poured into every aspect of the dining experience. From the attentive, yet unobtrusive service to the meticulous presentation of the dishes, you can feel the love and dedication that the owners have for their craft. It's this personal touch combined with an "aged" ambience that transforms a meal into an experience. In a world where the genuine essence of Japanese cuisine can sometimes be lost amidst fusion and innovation, Sushi Anza stands as a beacon of tradition and quality. “The menu offers a large selection from which to choose, however, there are, also, weekly specials that run every weekday. I should mention the Happy Hour bar menu which has six to eight tasty selections at a great price. My favorite are Bob's mini tacos. I prefer the beef tacos and I wish that they would put them on the regular menu, they are that good.

The real star of the establishment is the ale. They are all good and even better than good. Particularly the IPA, the India Pale Ale. Bob has crafted one of the best IPA's in the world. A west coast style (very hoppy) IPA that does and will bring IPA enthusiasts from all over to enjoy. Fortunately, one can enjoy the IPA, as well as any of the other outstanding ales, at home due to the availability of the growlers. Then again, the pub is an enjoyable place to have your ale. A friendly and attentive staff makes it a comfortable environment whether in or outside the restaurant area or sitting at the bar. The bar is separated from the restaurant by a decorative wall that has enough open areas and glass to enable patrons to see the other side, yet still feel separated from each other. Situated in Old Torrance, just off Torrance Blvd., it has a free parking lot next to it as well as free street parking in front. The building is an old power company building that has a semi-industrial feel inside, yet comfortable. There are outside tables and chairs if you wish to eat/drink outside.
And the food is first-rate. Come for the ale and stay for the food.“

“I found them on Yelp with a 4.5 rating and said I'm gonna try this place. I ordered a combo of catfish filet and oysters with fries and macaroni salad. The food was fresh, tasted great and plentiful. And I couldn't finish my meal because it was so much food. I highly recommend this place. The service was good also. I finally found my new go-to fried fish spot. Maybe I'll trying the orange roughy or lobster fried the next time. And don't forget the tartar sauce. It's off the chain, not that packaged stuff like some other places have.“

“Although I’ve lived in LA forever my sister and I just visited Eee’s n Cee’s for the first time. As we are picky about our fish we went for it. While looking at the menu there was another customer in there, so I asked about the food. He told us the food was really good. So, we placed our orders and let me tell you all….the food DID NOT DISAPPOINT, but not only did the food NOT disappoint the customer service was EXCELLENT. When she handed our bags I said ooh they heavy (lol). Baby when we popped the container open the presentation spoke volume and for what you get the prices are really good. We couldn’t even pull off without going in and 😋 is all I’m going to say. I hate I didn’t ask her name but she’s the beautiful cook and owner of the establishment (1996). There are not many places you can get great food with great service but this mom and pop establishment definitely did just that. She is really sweet and KNOWS how to cook. “I think most restaurants use some kind of inexpensive fish with the thought that once it's breaded and fried, no one will care. But the Slow Bell's haddock was thick, moist, and cooked just right. The fries were so good bare that I felt guilty using ketchup.“
