Julia's Restaurant Reviews
Julia's was wonderful! Came in for lunch, it wasn't too busy we didn't have much of a wait. Food was amazing our group had a steak, cauliflower soup and the chicken sandwich. Each meal comes with a huge portion of fries, and it was all so good. Jenna was our server she was so sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. :) will definitely be back. Easy to park as well
We always enjoy our dinners at Julia's. The food is delicious and the staff is attentive without being intrusive. The seasonal menu is lovely as well.
Wow! The entire meal was delicious!! The Steelhead was probably my favorite fish dish ever. Service was excellent. Highly recommended!

Julia's Restaurant provides an elegant dining experience in a charming, historic building that transports guests to a vintage era of sophistication. Located on the second floor of Berkeley's City Club, a structure originally designed by Julia Morgan for a women's club or YWCA, the space now functions as a quaint hotel and UC Berkeley campus club. The ambiance is inviting, with woodsy details, high ceilings, and large windows that let in plenty of natural light. The restaurant offers a relaxing atmosphere with tables spaced further apart than most places, making conversation easy and comfortable. The staff is friendly and attentive; they remember special occasions and often go out of their way to make desserts extra special without being asked.
The menu features a good range of approachable dishes with attention to detail. Standout meals include the Nicoise salad, which is generous with extra avocados and grilled tuna, and the quiche with vibrant spinach and a rich, light custard filling served in a flaky pastry shell. The tuna is seared just enough to be sashimi perfect, coated with toasted black and white sesame seeds. The quiche is considered one of the best in recent memory. The food, elegant table settings, and lovely atmosphere, combined with top-notch service, create a memorable experience. Desserts like vanilla crème brûlée are highly praised, and the venue also offers a lovely Tea Time, with perfect tea, savories, and sweet treats that leave guests pleasantly relaxed and full. Overall, Julia's Restaurant is a cozy yet refined place ideal for a relaxed lunch or celebrating a special occasion, with many planning to return for future visits.
