“Maxine's was wonderful! It was like going to your neighborhood breakfast place and enjoying a perfect Morning Breakfast. We sat up to the counter on wonderful big chairs, so great! Staff was engaging and helpful and took just wonderful care of us.

“Far too packed inside, makes for an extraordinarily loud and less than pleasant dinning experience. Better to eat on the patio, not on the street. The food portions are a little lackluster but the options are expensive. Get water and your drink for there are too few servers to attend to timely refills. This is the type of place you would expect to have carafes of juice and personal pots of coffee but nah, cant be bothered. Cocktails are whats on one of the two menus, so that accounts for part of the noise, too.“

“We dropped in to this little cafe after landing at LAX. It was surprisingly good!! The employees were also super nice & accommodated my onion allergy. I had tacos that were amazing. My kids shared their fries with me and they were the good, thick battered style of fries. So good.I also got a big iced coffee to go. Total one stop shop. And it was very very clean. 10/10!!! Might come back for breakfast if we have time.“

They have a tent set up and almost a taco stand like feel. The service was very good and the food even better! I ordered the carne asada breakfast burrito and it tasted amazing!! Parking is easy if you don’t mind walking or you can look for street parking. Great place to sit and catch up with some friends“

“This is a great spot for breakfast. They open at 9 a.m., so if you go early on a weekend, you get a leisurely start to your day, before the Farmers Market/Grove area gets too crowded.

The food is always great. Highly recommend the french toast (super moist and nicely custardy in the middle), hotcakes, and corned beef hash. The eggs are super tasty too. Everything’s never too greasy or dry. Prices are reasonable, by L.A. standards. And the service is consistently friendly. It’s open seating in the farmers market area; you order at their counter and pick up your food when your name is called.

Just be aware that if you park in The Grove garage, you have two hours free with validation at the Monsieur Marcel french market at the other end of the Farmers Market. One minute over and you pay a whopping $20 for parking, or more if you linger!“
