“The Harvest Dinner was a wonderful experience. Lemon Poppy is a durable, local favorite, a fun & friendly place to get predictably good food. Having the opportunity to attend a more intimate, curated & personal dining experience was such a treat! The relaxed pace, the unique multi-course meal, & the delightful food surprised that just kept coming ... delightful! Everything was so good! And so much food - we left with multiple leftover containers, that I was able to enjoy for several meals afterward. Definitely a highlight ❤️“

“Staying at the marriot next door. Breakfast at the hotel was insanely expensive $30 for standard buffet style Continental breakfast. My wife and I looked for another option and found this place next door inside an office building lobby. We ordered our food and two horchata lattes and paid $30. Our food was delicious and piping hot freshly made. The service was outstanding despite being busy with the lunch rush. The dining area was comfortable and clean. The music was loud but it was nice after a bit to not hear every table's conversation melding together. As we ate we looked over the menu for our next visit. Highly recommend the breakfast sandwich, my wife said it was just like home but better. I had the American breakfast with the French toast with all the fruit and toppings. I didn't even need the syrup they brought to the table.“

“We picked this restaurant based on the ratings. We were visiting from out of town. So we walked the 20 min to try it out. It was thoroughly worth it. We were greeted and seated right away. The server, Samantha was a delight. We had the shrimp and grits and skillet with chicken with biscuits. Everything was flavorful. Looking forward to visiting again when we come back. “Had a great experience checking out the new Popping Yolk Cafe location on Melrose. The space is bright, modern, and has a really nice atmosphere for brunch.

I tried the Norwegian Eggs Benedict, Cinnamon Apple French Toast, and Bacon and Cheese Sandwich. Everything was fresh and flavorful, but the Eggs Benedict was definitely one of my favorites. The French toast was also really good and had the perfect amount of sweetness.

For drinks, I had the Potted Plant Coffee, which was really unique and fun, along with the Mango Iced Green Tea, which was super refreshing.

The portions were good, everything came out looking great, and I really enjoyed the overall experience. Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a new breakfast or brunch spot around Melrose.“

“My experience was stellar from the initial reach out to the day of the event! I hosted a brunch for ~20 people and they really took care of us. The place was PACKED the entire time and yet our service was fast, the food was hot and we were treated like we were the only guests in the restaurants. The food and vibes at Gritz N Wafflez are top notch; I will absolutely be back!“

“Enjoyed sitting outdoors with my daughter and two granddaughters after their Kaiser appointments. I had a very tasty Turkey Club sandwich with waffle fries, while my daughter enjoyed a great omelette and her kids had mini-Belgian waffles with sprinkles. Just Perfect!!“

“The best brunch spot in DTLA.I take the train here and get off at 7th and metro. The all you can eat and drink for one price is so good and very affordable compared to the other spots in the area. The manager is very nice and makes sure you are taken care of!“

“This restaurant is a hidden gem.And luckily , they have a lot of signs to help you find the parking and location of the restaurant on the main streets. The food is absolutely delicious. There's a lot of space for big parties, indoor and outdoor seating and a waiting area. Or mutual area where they have a big screen TV and hosting the fifa world cup . Food was absolutely delicious. Every single thing. I tried not one thing, I complain about staff was very friendly and very attentive to us. They have iced and hot coffees and matches a must try is their big signature steak plate that comes with. Shrimp and veggies.“

“This is a great spot for breakfast. They open at 9 a.m., so if you go early on a weekend, you get a leisurely start to your day, before the Farmers Market/Grove area gets too crowded.

The food is always great. Highly recommend the french toast (super moist and nicely custardy in the middle), hotcakes, and corned beef hash. The eggs are super tasty too. Everything’s never too greasy or dry. Prices are reasonable, by L.A. standards. And the service is consistently friendly. It’s open seating in the farmers market area; you order at their counter and pick up your food when your name is called.

Just be aware that if you park in The Grove garage, you have two hours free with validation at the Monsieur Marcel french market at the other end of the Farmers Market. One minute over and you pay a whopping $20 for parking, or more if you linger!“
