“Four of us went on Thursday at 4:30, wasn't crowded yet. I had a mai tai and it was VERY strong, but tasted good. We ordered food from JJ Island Grind which is attached to the bar. Their food is outstanding. All in all, we loved the vibe, the drinks and the food!“

“Another speak easy in San Diego! Located inside a bakery. Making reservations for the weekday was pretty easy. I made mine the same day. This is a Japanese inspired bar. They offer small food from the bakery. Kitchen closes at 9pm. My friend and I shared the chicken sando sandwich. The bread was so soft and fluffy. Assuming the bakery baked it. The drinks were good and standard pricing. I got a refreshing drink while my friend got an old fashion. There's a bar area seating and some tables. They also had a bigger room in the back for big groups. Chill spot to talk and sip on drinks.“

“We visited False Idol for the first time on a Thursday at 10pm. We ran behind that evening and had to cancel our 9:15pm reservation with short notice. Despite this, we were greeted very warmly by the hosts and offered standing room. The ambiance inside is so fun. We were only standing for a minute or two before Elle(so?) made us feel at home, recommending delicious cocktails to try and took our order. The drinks came quickly. The Mac But Chi Chi was the hands down best drink ever. Period. I was so happy for that suggestion! The other drinks were delicious too and we were even escorted to a table that had opened up. It was the best way to end our evening and I can't wait to visit again! Thank you, False Idol, for such a lovely night!“

“One of the cooler speakeasy-esque bars that I’ve been to. It’s located behind some old school doors which we didn’t realize at first but once inside, the vibe is spot on. The cocktails were delicious and high quality. They’re also playing some great tunes which sets the mood nicely. Would recommend if you’re in the area!“

“The All American sliders and shrimp flat bread was spot on as usual but it was their draft beers that were not up to par tonight (not as cold as usual) due to them being slammed earlier leaving them with hot glasses. This is where 100% he saved the day. Zach our server on the fly suggested if he can turn these hot glasses into super cold glasses by super dropping the temperature by filling it up with lots of ice and water and then cleaning the cold glasses and topping it up with there tapped IPA immediately. It was effective and the beers were super drinkable again and delicious. Thank u Zach for being absolutely brilliant, entertaining and most of all taking care of your customers from the bottom of your heart!“

“Definitely make a reservation. Totally hip place. Great service. Food is OK. Sadly, the swordfish was not tasty at all. In fact, it was very watery. Definitely not five star tries to be a little too Fancy and a little too much seasoning. And a whole lot of smoky of everything. Cocktails are incredible. Bartender was so good. Decor is just basic. But it’s a very busy place with a really nice little patio out front.Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly based on menu and Quaintance of the restaurant maybe at lunchtime it is but not for dinner“

“This is probably my favorite restaurant in San Diego. I love Thai food and have never had any this good! Definitely worth the price. My favorites are the Hat Yai Fried Chicken and the Grilled Angus New York Steak (over beef tallow fried rice). The ambiance is great, though it gets busy on weekends (so you probably want a reservation).“

“Best steakhouse in San Diego and one of my favorites in the country- and that's comparing to Chicago and NYC. This restaurant is unique. From the ambiance to the service to the high quality food, it's a special place to go to. I've been here multiple times now and each time is fantastic. It's an old-school steakhouse, where service is top notch, attentive, well-timed, helpful with knowledgeable staff- it's just service you don't see much in San Diego. And the staff seem to enjoy working there. Everything is executed well with outstanding flavor and quality- I think they should be considered for a Michelin star! You get good value for the price and the amuse-bouche along with the palate cleanser before the entree is such a great touch! We had the wedge salad, bread, waygu steak and ribeye. Mushrooms as a side and the bread pudding for dessert. Let's just start with the bacon on the wedge salad- I didn't want it to end. The blue cheese was mild and I'm ok with that. Steaks are cooked perfectly. We wanted to share so they gave us our own plates with the sides on them, then put the steaks between us so we could easily cut and share (they will split it for you too, we just wanted to cut our own). Both were great but this 'ribeye regular' thinks the waygu strip steak is the star. I think it's my favorite steak on the menu! Tender and full of flavor. The mushrooms are excellent as were the house made sauces. Their steak sauce is the best and the peppercorn is fantastic. Their creamy horseradish was too mild for me- I wanted a little more bite and flavor so if you want horseradish flavor, get it raw. Dessert was just ok. We had the chocolate chip bread pudding with butterscotch sauce and chocolate ice cream. I prefer bread pudding to be sliced from a loaf- it's more moist that way. Here it is individually prepared and they warm it up before serving. But it comes out a little charred and even with the sauce it's too dry for me. The butterscotch sauce was excellent as was the ice cream. It just fell a little short for me but still giving a 5, because here, it's about the proteins. The ambiance is vintage western, down to the music and posters- it's really pretty cool. Don't forget to check out the moving bar- the alcohol moves up and down when they need it- very industrial and cool. They book up a few weeks in advance but if you come right when they open you can get the full menu at the bar. They have a great bar menu too. There is also bar seating by the kitchen but that requires a reservation- that's next for me as I love watching the chefs prepare food. It's pricey but you get great value and service for it. It's close to Petco park or the Rady shell- not the best neighborhood but it's a hidden gem. A favorite San Diego restaurant for me.“

“Classic San Diego indoor-outdoor set up where you can't tell if your table is in the dining room or the patio. They kept the feel of the old dealership which was neat! Vegetable dishes were so fun and satisfying, especially when you wipe the plate with the sourdough. Roasted carrots were an explosion of flavors, as was the caulilini. Oreo beignets were a little on the undercooked side but a fun option. Mezcal drinks were also great!“

“Good breakfast food but sub par service. The hostess got my cell phone number wrong and after 40 mins of waiting I went back in to check on the status only to be told our table had been given away. Once sat, the waitress was very attentive at the beginning but then was nowhere to be found for 30 full minutes at the end. The food itself is good and is comparable to The Broken Yolk, and came out within 10 minutes of ordering. The atmosphere is quaint and eclectic with most of the seating outdoors. If this was within walking distance of my place, I would probably come here on weekends, but wouldn’t make the drive to eat here again.“

“Love this place. Their BBQ chicken pizza is my favorite. It's always the perfect crisp. I love all the toppings in this pizza. Very consistent. And their sweet chili & lemon pepper wings are really good. Packed with flavor. Tried the wagyu sliders but they were NOT a hit. Wasn't flavorful, kinda blain, basic and were so sad the tater tots had no flavor at all. But hella crispy. Atmosphere is cool, tvs and little bar top. The staff is ok. Overall, I'll keep going back.“

Finding a place that is both safe AND delicious is extremely hard. This place not only met those criteria, but surpassed all of my hopes. The food was AMAZING! So good, that we came back two days later for another round. Quality is there and so is the quantity - the portions are quite substantial! Love the little touches like the fresh flowers on each table. The chef has mad skills!! Everyone is so welcoming and the place itself is super cute. They also have baked goods that looked delicious, but we haven't tried any yet. “Stopped by Bottle Rocket after reading all the excellent reviews. It was a Wednesday night which is Wings night (6 wings for $6) so decided to give those a shot. We were welcomed immediately upon entering by the staff and found the service throughout the visit to be prompt and friendly. You have to go to the bar to place your food orders and are given a number to place on your table for delivery. We ordered two of the 6 piece wings as well as a cheeseburger and an order of fries. The wings came out piping hot but a little bit overcooked. The bbq sauce was really good but the mango habanero was more on the sweet side than spicy which was disappointing. The burger looked really appetizing but was a bit average in comparison to similar places we frequent. Fries were crispy and tasty. Bottle Rocket also has an excellent selection of beers available. I would be more apt to visit them in the future for drinks than for their food because the service was super friendly and the vibe of the place was laid back and fun in general.“

“I just celebrated my bday at Trailer Park After Dark and reserved the small trailer for my party. Blake and the bar staff went above and beyond to make this night special for us and accommodated all of my requests...I was worried I was being high maintenance but they came through and hung up a pinata I brought, set up this birthday backdrop I dropped off to take photos in front of and they even had a photo booth they set up for us. Everything came together so perfectly! I couldnt have asked for a more perfect night! We all had a blast! You should def consider this place for any event or just a night out with friends. “still here at the moment. this place is a cozy, hole in the wall establishment. the smash burger they have here is intoxicating all on it's own, it literally melts in your mouth. I added some fries on the side and my drink of choice was the natural red wine. I paired these fantastic options with the outdoor seating that is located in the back. I chose this place because it's within walking distance of where I live. I'm glad it's nearby, because I'll be coming back again. It's my first time here by the way. 5 out of 5 ! Also, let me add that the music playlist they have in rotation is curated perfectly well. Good vibes to say the least.“

“I ordered it online and they were quick to complete my order. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and kids chicken quesadilla. The food was great. In regards to the pizza, the crust was thin just like I like it. The sauce was flavorful, and there was enough pepperoni on it. That's for the quesadillas. There were three Chicken quesadillas. I asked for only Monterey Jack cheese on it because they put both of them according to what I read, and they followed the instructions completely. I appreciate that because my great niece does not like the orange cheese as she calls it lol.“
