“I ate a veggie sandwich with an acai bowl and some bbq chips. Honestly, not that bad. The sandwich was simple. I have found that simple is sometimes the most delicious. The bathroom was very clean. Tables..everything was clean and neat. We also ordered a large chamango which was so good. Highly recommend .“

“We wanted to try this place for a long time but we only had several times drink at here before. Mingei is my favorite museum in SD and a restaurant at here, it is gonna be good! Plus their drinks are pretty nice as I remember. And yes, I’ll say here’s food is worthy to try. We ordered a Vietnamese pork meatball and a choripan burger, they are all fusion style food, which I like - A lot of different culture inspired cuisine. Meatball is flavorful and burger is juicy and tender. I would like more Vietnamese flavor in the meatball like fish sauce I guess, now I feel the Vietnamese flavor is not enough. The service is nice and the atmosphere is great. I’ll definitely recommend you come to try.“

“We absolutely loved our dinner at Monzu in the Gaslamp! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff struck the perfect balance of being friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. We started with the tartare di tonno, which was incredibly fresh and flavorful—an excellent beginning to the meal. The housemade focaccia deserves a special mention: airy, perfectly seasoned, and quite possibly the best I’ve ever had. For the main course, I enjoyed the bucatini all’amatriciana. The pasta was clearly house-made, cooked to perfection, and the sauce had that authentic depth of flavor that only true Southern Italian cooking delivers. We finished with an affogato, which was the ideal ending—simple, rich, and satisfying. Monzu offers authentic Southern Italian fare with genuine hospitality, and everything we tried reflected both freshness and craftsmanship. I would 100% return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable Italian dining experience in San Diego.“

“Finally! A new pizza shop in La Mesa and it’s delicious. Now I don’t have to go into the Village where parking can be difficult. Love the secret sauce and the craft pizzas. I highly recommend that you give it a try.“

“Nice, clean and friendly spot in a smaller retail strip. A fairly decent range of choices and everything was supper fresh. Spice ratings go 1-5. I’m a 0; my sister is a 6. She still added more hot chili paste to her vegetarian entree (sorry - I forget what she had). I had the Garlic Noodles and they were FANTASTIC. The pork was amazingly tender and delicious. The portions were enormous and I had it for lunch the next day! Try it out. I know I’m going back!“

“We had a great dining experience at Urban Plates in Long Beach. Mariana explained the menu choices in a very unrushed manner, and we decided on the steak. I ordered the Chimichurri grass-fed steak with balsamic brussel sprouts and herb-roasted potatoes. All of it was delicious ( and healthy too!). The deserts were absolutely killer too. We will definitely eat here again next time we're in Long Beach.“

“Black Radish - Opened the door and walked into an Elegant yet casual interior. The vibe was warm and the staff very kind, accommodating, and friendly. The menu is unique, not the typical items that appear on almost all restaurant menus. First off were the Biscuits. Excellent texture, wonderful flavor and served with a soft herbed butter. Absolutely Amazing. Next up the Coconut soup, Delicious with a hint of spice from thinly sliced Serrano peppers on top and wow! Pure Yum! Following up with the Pappardelle with squash. This dish was perfection. The pasta noodles were cooked perfectly. The flavor of the pasta noodles was delicious and with the sauce and squash it was unbelievably delicious. One of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. The food is amazing and full of delicious flavors. High quality ingredients expertly prepared.
2 criticisms however;
* The portions are ridiculously small with a steep price tag
* The bathroom is part of the main dining room so when one walks into the bathroom those sitting at certain tables can view the interior of the bathroom - I find this distasteful.“

“HillCrust Pizza is on a completely different level. I have eaten pizza all over Los Angeles and San Diego, but this place has something special that keeps me coming back. I actually make the drive from Beverly Hills just to eat here, and every time it feels worth it. The quality and consistency are unmatched.

The Loaded Hilly Philly Cheesesteak is my favorite item on the menu. The flavor is outstanding, the portions are generous, and the fact that they use halal grass fed meat makes it even better. It is without question one of the best Philly steaks I have ever had. Their pizzas are just as impressive. The dough is organic and non GMO, soft and airy yet with the perfect bite, and the San Marzano tomato sauce gives it a fresh, authentic taste.

I have tried just about everything here and it has all been excellent. The Golden Hill with Mike’s Hot Honey has the perfect touch of sweetness and spice. The Sunset Cliffs with pickled jalapeños has the kind of flavor that stays with you. Even the Margherita, which is usually simple anywhere else, is fresh and full of flavor here. What stands out most is that no matter what I order it always comes out consistent and delicious.

The atmosphere is another reason I keep coming back. The restaurant is quiet, peaceful, and relaxing, making it the kind of place where you can actually enjoy your food without distractions. The staff is also friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which makes the experience even better.

HillCrust Pizza is more than just a pizza place. It is a spot that takes quality seriously and delivers every time. For me it has become a destination, and if I am willing to drive from Beverly Hills just to eat here that should tell you how special it really is.“

But the best part was the service: We lost some documents, and we thought we'd left them there. The entire staff was cooperative and friendly. They even gave us a follow-up call. Unfortunately, we couldn't find them (we lost them in the parking lot), but we were very grateful for the staff's support. If you go to San Diego, be sure to visit this delicious restaurant!! I messaged them because we have ordered several times before and thought maybe they would try to make it right but they never replied. This was 2 weeks ago. We will never buy food here again! The servings are very small and there are tons of other places to eat or order take out around here if they want to be jerks about it! The food is average really, we order out frequently so as not to have to cook and live in the area. We got about $1 worth of rice and lettuce for a $30 meal plate, what a joke!“

“I pass by Big Front Door often heading to work. Decided to stop in and give it a try this afternoon. I got their Cobbler salad and my friend got the chicken parmesan sandwich. The portion sizes are very generous, I asked for extra dressing with my salad and didn't really need it as there was a decent amount left. The food tasted great and was served up without much of a wait time. The star of the show was the gentleman that helped us though! I wish I had taken the time to get his name to give him proper credit. He greeted us, made small talk while my friend and I decided what to have and as we were leaving he offered to clear our table for us. Very polite and friendly!
