“I'm about to bring you the peoples! Ok peoples, want to go out on a taco Tuesday? Nothing beats $2 tacos! Real tacos at that! Came here from a FB event that popped up on my feed and thought to myself... we gotta go! Made the trek here, the location of off Bonita rd with plenty of parking. It is a restaurant bar but gives more of bar vibes. The bar is VERY large but didn't partake in any alcoholic drinks. We came for TACOS! I was surprised to see that we were the only other customers there, only one other table had people so our food came out very quick. A plus for us... but if you want taco Tuesday with a not so busy place this is it! The tacos available were carne asada, pollo, fish, tripitas and a few others that I can't remember but they don't skip out on the options. The only reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars and this is more of a personal preference is that the tortillas were kinda hard along the edges and didn't seem fresh to me. They had a good flavor nonetheless and the meat in the tacos was on point! Our server was very nice and attentive, made our visit an easy one. We might make it our Tuesday spot moving forward just need more fresh tortillas :)“

“Ordered the Ortega Chili burger with steak fries to go. It is a solid burger, tasty, and they wrapped the lettuce, onions, and tomato separately so it didn’t get mushy during the ride home. Loved it!The steak fries were not so tasty. Maybe old oil or whatever, but I think I will try their onion rings next because those steak fries missed the target.“

“Excellent service and good food! Catalina was exceptional and took great care of us at the bar. She was super friendly and efficient taking and delivering our order. It is rare these days to find good service and she really surprised us! The pork tacos and chicken sandwich were tasty and fresh!“

“Serious locals bar. Great service. Unusually well manicured tap beer selection - nice work. I had a perfectly poured Guinness followed by an HB helles - both in the correct glasses. How often do you get that? Great whiskey selection, if you are so inclined. I was here on a Monday night. There’s a lot of not so ideal bars in this area. This place is an outlier. A true haven of a spot. Look forward to coming back and trying the food.“

“still here at the moment. this place is a cozy, hole in the wall establishment. the smash burger they have here is intoxicating all on it's own, it literally melts in your mouth. I added some fries on the side and my drink of choice was the natural red wine. I paired these fantastic options with the outdoor seating that is located in the back. I chose this place because it's within walking distance of where I live. I'm glad it's nearby, because I'll be coming back again. It's my first time here by the way. 5 out of 5 ! Also, let me add that the music playlist they have in rotation is curated perfectly well. Good vibes to say the least.“

“If you want a divey bar/pub, this is definitely guys up front are very friendly and let us know what games were sprawled around their bar. Only and beer and wine here it seems, but had no problem with that. Ample seating, fun vibe overall. There was a distinct smell all around the bar I couldn’t locate where it was, though.“

“What a great location with the lights sparkling around the bay! I had the onion rings (huge and crispy!) And the chicken quinoa bowl that was delicious! Each item in the bowl had been seasoned to be an individual flavor but they all worked well together in the dish. I will absolutely order it again.Vegetarian options: They have a vegetarian version of the excellent chicken bowl I had.“

“I had a great experience at this joint. Sat at the bar and was helped by Brandy. She recommended the Philly cheesesteak and the truffle fries. The food was awesome and the service was fast and really nice. Nice jukebox and cool relaxing place to eat and drink. I will definitely be back and recommend to friends.“

He kept the beer & booze prices low & he reminded folks, "This ain't no Fightin bar!" He was full of stories of the past & loved to meet new, younger customers. “This review is from 2018..I am just beginning my thru hike of the Pacific Crest Trail and this was the ultimate best send off! Excellent food and atmosphere...and then there was Jair! “I have re-discovered Pal Joey's in the neighborhood I grew up in. You'd think there'd be a line down the street and a cover for the fun I had. It is in a local sweet spot of Grantville on Waring Rd and is still what a good bar once was in San Diego. The bartenders are spot on taking care of business while neighborhood friendly. Live band 90 Miles Per Hour was fantastic. Surprised to speak with a woman who rattled off the names of the other kids I grew up with here.“

The bartender was friendly and tentative to our needs. The ambiance was cozy, like an old dive bar. I would definitely go back for more drinks sometime.“

“I really like this sandwich shop and love that I can get a small sandwich and soup and it'll can be stretched to two meals. The sandwiches are fresh, the breads, meats, and they are not shy with the veggies. They also have a great selection of soups that is hard to find these days. “The Chicken Wings ..!!!Need we say more!!! They are Amazing…The Mahi Mahi tacos are loaded with flavor. The burgers are big , flavorful and not overwhelming. Their selection of beers on tap are exactly what you will be looking for. Right across the street from the IB pier (about 100 yards ) with patio seating that looks out to the beach. The staff is super friendly. It’s self seating. Don’t forget to purchase one of their famous shirts on the way out….Kid-friendliness: My Kids Love this place !!!“

“Had such a great time at Johnny WAHOO Golf bar. The simulator has far more than just golf. I am a terrible golfer ?️‍♀️ an i was just as terrible with the simulator. But i did have a great time throwing a baseball at the screen. We got lucky and got 2 hours on a Thursday without a reservation. The bartender was so kind and friendly. Great beer and alcohol selection. Between the drinks, the reasonable price, and the different sports and games on the simulator this was a great way to spend 2 hours in gaslamp.“

“Always a great choice to meet up for a cocktail with friends. While we love the inside atmosphere, we all prefer the great outdoors these days and Tivoli has ample outdoor seating for our needs. Prices are not over the top, and it’s a great corner to people watch…especially during Halloween and Comic Con.“

“Real arcade experiences are hard to find. I don't mean kiddie casinos that give tickets so you can trade them for cheap prizes, I mean an arcade with cabinets and pinball as an end in and of themselves. Dyno Bar is that for me. I recommend the 60th Anniversary James Bond pinball machine, Golden Axe II (because 4-way beat-em-ups are great for meeting people) and the cabinet with tons of ROMs of games from the 70's to the 90's. Anytime I'm in San Diego, I'll find my way here for sure.“

“So glad that I finally made it to this bar after living in the neighborhood for so long. I'm also very glad that I came in with a regular who knew a person or two as this has a very "locals" feel to it. First thought that ran through my head was that it was much bigger than I had expected it to be. I didn't even make it to the other side of the bar, which is also sizeable. Service was quick and there were a few folks playing pool on one of the two tables that I saw, (there may be more) and it had a nice outdoor space for patrons to go to for a quick smoke or two. Prices were average and the people were friendly, and for that, what more can you really ask for in a neighborhood bar?“

“Was looking for a local spot to go and this is definitely a good find. It's a Mexican bar at heart and there are tvs to watch sports... mainly soccer. The people there were very friendly and service was good. Honestly I saw the people eating tacos and they looked so good. So if you are looking for a Mexican sports bar, this is the spot to go.“

“Great music good people. We visited N City Spirts Lounge for a birthday party who received VIP service. It was a fun evening. I would recommend going to this establishment if you are in the area and enjoy listening and dancing to R&B and Hip Hop. The DJ is phenomenal.“

I had surgery on my Right Knee and still not that comfortable sitting at bench tables. no problem here they sat us at a table with both chairs and bench. Now that is great customer service. “i come to this bar every day to play pool in a nice laid back environment. one bartender that really stands out to me is Jamie. she always goes above and beyond to make sure every guest in the bar has a great experience. by far my favorite bar in lemon grove. great bar, great owner and GREAT BARTENDERS.“

“Definitely not a place that gets going all night like a club would but a very cool and quaint spot to grab a drink with a group friends. Pool tables and a variety of drinks on tap. Bartenders are receptive as well. Juke Box is a plus to play music of one’s choice.It’s honestly kind of it’s own place in the middle of everything, but wouldn’t mind staying here for a night and drink the night away. The Elwood is nearby too.“

“I love American Junkie!! It’s one of the best bars in the Gaslamp. I went here for the San Diego Zombie Crawl that Gaslamp Event Management puts on every year and it was a blast. Everyone was having so much fun and the vibe was amazing. I was able to get my welcome shot very easily and the check in for the Zombie Crawl at American Junkie was a breeze.“
