“After a long search I've discovered Julian Bakery's pea protein bar. Absolutely outstanding. These pea protein bars are the real deal. No artificial aftertaste at all—likely because the ingredients are actually natural. Just five ingredients, all high-quality, including premium cocoa. You genuinely feel like you’re eating pure health.

What really sets these bars apart is how easy they are on the stomach. Pea protein digests beautifully—no bloating, none of the heaviness you get with whey or sugar substitutes like sucralose. The sweetness comes from monk fruit, which says everything about their commitment to quality (it’s far more premium than stevia).

“A very quality coffee shop to get a “real” coffee beverage in a sea of Starbucks and commercialized coffee options.

The vibe is hip and modern, and the seasonal offerings are very unique and very good. A winter flavor that really hit was the orange vanilla pine latte. I avoid carbs but hubby had it and it was really balanced and creative.

They sell cute and functional merch as well as the beans! They roast a spectrum from light Ethiopian to medium Mexican, to espresso roast and mix of medium and dark. Decaf, too, I observed- processed minimally.

Bonus- the food looked very premium. And the Pop Pie is right next door.

“My only regret is that we haven't tried this place sooner! There's no picture bc by the time we got home we were too excited to wait. This pizza is absolutely delicious! We got the large pepperoni and there was nothing left. We ate the whole thing. Everything about it was amazing, even the crust - sometimes we have found pizza crust to lack taste, but definitely not this one. Note that our pizza was not vegan, so I cannot say for that. “As a tea drinker this presentation felt sophisticated and the chamomile strength was delicious and soothing. The freshness and rainbow colors of this bowl complemented the light delicate dressing. The watermelon radish added a pungent spice and with a dollop of hummus was perfectly balanced. Felt light and healthy and was a great vegan option. The music was mellow and the volume matched the mood of the time of day. Will be back again and try more of the not coffee menu.“

Listen, I came to Carlsbad Village for the beach, but I’m pretty sure I’ve been permanently converted into a human chia seed after discovering Choice Juicery.

Let me paint you a picture: You’re lounging on their artificial grass outdoor seating (yes, GRASS, because apparently sitting on regular furniture is so 2010), sunshine warming your face, sipping a cold-pressed juice that’s so organic it probably knows the name of the farmer who grew it. This is the Carlsbad Village experience I didn’t know I needed.

I ordered the Avatar smoothie bowl because I too want to connect with nature and look as good as a blue alien, and OH MY GOODNESS. The granola was crunchy, the fruit was fresh, and I suddenly understood why everyone in the reviews sounds like they’ve achieved enlightenment. One reviewer said they wanted to spend their morning with “a book, the beach, and a smoothie bowl” and honestly? Goals. That person gets it.

The staff has that “vibrant energy” everyone mentions – they’re not just making smoothies, they’re conducting a symphony of superfoods. They let me sample things. They returned my glass bottle for credit. They made me feel like I was making the best life choices, which I was, because I was literally at a place called CHOICE.
Is it weird that I’m emotionally attached to a juice bar? Maybe. Do I care? Absolutely not. The outdoor vibe is chef’s kiss perfection – prime people-watching in the heart of the village, fresh ocean breeze, and the knowledge that everything I’m consuming is organic, plant-based, and probably reversing my terrible life decisions from last weekend.

If you’re in Carlsbad and don’t stop here, are you even really living? The answer is no. Go forth and get your açaí bowl. Your body will thank you, your Instagram will thank you, and that little voice in your head that says “maybe just one more burger” will finally quiet down.
TL;DR: Come for the cold-pressed juice, stay for the outdoor bliss, leave feeling like a wellness influencer. 11/10 would juice again. 🥬🌞​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​“
