“This place runs so efficiently. David, Angel, Roselia( Rosy), Aurelio and another lady, whose name I’m forgetting have a system down. The food is delicious and you’re in and out quickly. This is one of my favorite spots for a quick and easy breakfast.“

“The Bottom Line Up Front:
In a world filled with corporations masquerading as sophisticated boutiques, Philz is a growing chain that still retains a cozy atmosphere while serving up great coffee. I've been to other Philz, but this review will focus on this Brea location.

The Drink:
I got the seasonal salted caramel cold brew and it was delicious. Picture Starbucks' caramel macchiato but less sweet and with less acidic espresso. This Philz drink was smooth and creamy, with enough caffeine kick to keep me powered throughout the day.

The Service:
Our barista was very knowledgeable and offered a few suggestions and a couple of samples so that I could make the right selection. Grade A service!

The Setting:
Located in the new section of Brea Mall, this Philz location is a freestanding building so you have to walk outside of the mall to access it from the southwest side. There's no street parking, so you'll need to park in the large parking structure across from Nordstrom (currently...but they are doing more construction so this could change in the future).

The Conclusion:
As part of a franchise that doesn't act like one, the Brea location of Philz offers great coffee with excellent customer service.“

“I was craving New York bagels and found this local spot. I stopped in, and the staff was friendly, food was very tasty, and I definitely recommend an everything bagel with cheese, egg, turkey, sausage, and cream cheese. Will definitely be coming back must try, if you’ve had New York bagels.🤤🔥“

“Yummy!! Veggie Deluxe so good, love the lemon pepper on top.
My mom had the croissant, she said VERY fluffy the way its supposed to be.
Oj was tasty an I loved the lids so fun.

The owners had a Easter basket with eggs for the kids who came ,,, loved it

We sat inside by this beautiful window overlooking these trees that were blowing in the wind, so peaceful

Restaurant was clean an very astecticly appeasing

“Delicious, fresh, soft bagels! This place is a must try if you’re looking for fresh bagels. I come here all the time to get a half dozen. They have many flavors, Asiago, jalapeño, everything, garlic, sun dried tomato, sourdough, blueberry, wheat, poppy, coconut; and so many more. They also have tubs of cream cheese you can buy, I tried the chive & onion cream cheese and the Lox (smoked salmon) cream cheese, both SO good!
Once you try these, you can’t go back to store-bought bagels.“

“My son and I went here last Saturday at his request. I ordered a cinnamon roll and he had an everything bagel. Both were excellent and reasonably priced. Service was also very good.

What would have made the experience better is freshly grounded coffee. I know there is a Starbucks less than 100 yards away that they would compete against but sometimes it is matter of convenience if one is ordering in.“

“It’s definitely a local place since the staff know the majority of folks walking in the door, asking how are they doing? Their family, works, etc. it makes you warm and homey feeling. Easy parking and the place is clean and bright and spacious with both inside and outside seating. Plenty choices of bagels and morning cake (coffee cake). Plus variety of coffee and smoothies plus fresh squeezed juices. The bagel is soft and delish with great texture outside and toppings. The homemade cream spread is delicious and comes with varies choice of favor. Fantastic service overall. Will definitely comeback for more. Prices wise, decent & affordable.“

“The store has a cozy and warm atmosphere. The friendly owners provide friendly explanations. They toast delicious bagels warmly. I ordered morning rush coffee recommended by the male owner and ate it with cream cheese on the seat in front of the store. The bagels were chewy and very delicious. The coffee was also great. It was good, good to eat for breakfast. and the price just right

“Stopped by late morning after running a few errands and what a fabulous surprise. I had seen listings for The Bagelry for a while now and thankfully stopped by. Greeted warmly by the staff - if not the owner. We chatted a bit and he told me about the selection and their catering. The quality is top notch. Highly recommend the lox a cream cheese also the local high school favorite Turkey Bacon on a cheese bagel. My daughter loved it. Definitely will be back. Support a local business.“

“Fresh Bagels & Cafe is a popular local spot for bagels, breakfast, and lunch. Even on busy days, the food and service don't disappoint. The kind and hardworking staff can get you in and out quickly. I've been enjoying the food here for a few years.

I appreciate the variety of freshly baked bagels, along with a selection of cream cheese flavors. A few favorite items include toasted bagels with lox-flavored cream cheese, breakfast/omelette bagel sandwiches, and the Lox City bagel, which is perfect for hungrier mornings. The hot coffee options are good with your standard creams, sugars, and spices.

The traditional and specialty sandwiches served on a Dutch Crunch roll are also delicious. Additional food items include classic muffins, fresh rolls, croissants, and flavored cream cheeses to take home. The drinks available feature a variety of coffees, juices, smoothies, boba, teas, and more.

I'd recommend this place, and I'm looking forward to visiting again.“

“Rutabegorz is consistently one of my favorite spots for a healthy and delicious lunch. The menu is massive, offering an incredible variety of dishes, from their famous, giant salads to unique wraps and savory sides, so there’s always something new to try. You can tell the food is always fresh and carefully prepared, and the service is both friendly and impressively efficient, even during the busy lunch rush. It’s the perfect neighborhood gem!“

“The apple fritter had a Mexican flavor to it, it was surprising but good. My son had a donut twist, my other son had donut holes and they both enjoyed it. We shared a maple old fashioned and it was yummy. We are Spanish speakers and didn’t have a problem ordering. For all that it was $5.40, seems affordable !“

“2026 Update: Prices have sharply increased 2025-2026 with a few price increases, and service has declined in two our recent Spring 2026 visits. A combo for bagel and coffee is around $9-16 now, and some bagels are $6-9 by themselves. A half dozen bagels I think is $14 now (cream cheese not included). Bringing from 5 stars to 4 stars

Got a half dozen bagels and each were done to perfection, would come back

Price: It’s $13 for a half dozen bagels and I believe $7 for cream cheese as of May 2025.

Vibe/Atmosphere: There is a bit of seating inside and outside, but nothing fancy. There is also a bathroom inside but sign said out of order during my visit.“

“I got the donuts and Vietnamese coffee first. Both were delicious and the donuts were soft when we got them and even a day later. Still soft as if it were fresh. I got the croissant sandwich the second time and it was also excellent. The prices aren’t too bad either and it’s supporting a family owned business too. They were really friendly.“

“We stopped here on our way out of town the morning after Disneyland. The breakfast sandwiches were so amazing. The orange was incredibly fresh and tasted like liquid oranges. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Definitely coming back next time we have a Disney trip!“

“Whenever I want to get donuts I only go to Kenny's Donuts. You can keep your Dunkin Donuts which I grew up on back in 1989 long before they came to California and compared to Kenny's Donuts I'd rate them a 3 stars out of 10. I don't understand why everyone always gives Krispy Kreme such high praise for their donuts cuz personally they barely get 1 star out of 10. I won't rate their shops just their donuts cuz I'm sure their employees and the restaurants would get way more stars than the generic taste of a simple glazed donut which I sadly wasted money on trying it out back in 2002. You want great taste and quality you go to Kenny's Donuts and I promise you'll be going back every morning but don't go before 430-5am cuz they make everything fresh and warm after they open at 3am and all the good stuff takes time to make but I usually go around 515-530am when I know everything is made and still warm and there is never more than 2 people inside. If you like regular glazed, glazed twist, glazed donut holes, maple/chocolate bars, jelly, then Kenny's is the best place to go and every donut is $1.45 - $1.65, or you can order a breakfast sandwich, to go with a hot cup of coffee, or a made to order blended drink off the wall picture menu, or a cold drink from their 2 big drink refrigerators. If you're a fan of racing legend John Force you might just see him there, he's a longtime regular and goes often. I stood in line behind John a few months ago they even have his signed picture up on the wall. He lives only a few minutes away. I highly recommend Kenny's Donuts nextdoor to Canyon Inn bar & grill.“

“This is a great place to get fresh and tasty bagels. They always have a great selection of flavors and the staff is friendly.
I enjoyed the self service coffee bar with a selection of some flavored coffee.
The seating is limited so it is not a great place for a large group.“

“Went for their Taco Tuesday special. The flavor was good and oh my goodness do they fill up the taco with meat amd double tortilla. The salsa are spicy and have good flavor too. Definitely give them a try. I also saw they have daily specials during the week.“
