“Cute, small (seats 38) people restaurant with yummy food. The open kitchen is in the same space as a dining room (so you may end with some kitchen aroma on your clothes/hair). The restaurant opened for seating at 5PM but they brought out the Yelp waitlist tablet around 4:30 so you can sign up. They do not offer the Yelp waitlist via Yelp app so you can't sign up for the waitlist then drive over. Our party of 3 got in easily (since I put my name on the waitlist) & were super excited to eat. We shared: the potato salad which features an onsen (poached) egg that is lightly fried in panko, which was a nice surprise & added texture to the potato salad. Stupid tuna roll. Rice & shiso roll as the base, with slices of tuna & ikura and Hokkaido uni on top. It's a deconstructed roll which was fun to eat. This was one of our favorites. Mentaiko crab pasta - pasta is a creamy sauce with pollock roe & fried crab. We heard that this item might be retired from the menu so we had to try it & it was another one of our favorites. Kaisen don - marinated spot prawns/ikura/blue fin tuna/hokkaido uni/shoyu cured egg yolk over rice. When it arrived, we realized that we probably over ordered. It was very fresh & delicious. Kuma katsu don- kurobuta pork rib loin/fresh panko crumbs/shoyu tare/tamago/steamed rice/nori. Yummmm! Deep fried, juicy pork over soft scrambled eggs & rice. Absolutely delicious & another one of our favorites. I had a mikan highball cocktail that features tangerine, sochu & blood orange. Refreshing & not sweet. No dessert available. Service was friendly & helpful. Lots of parking available as this restaurant is in a strip mall with a big parking lot.“
“Defintely Poke'd Out after the lunch. Ordering method is broken down nicely and listed down well in the menu. It goes like Base + Poke + Mix-in + Sauce + Add-ons. I have chosen the medium sized bowl where I got 4 scoops of poke instead of mentioned 3, all the sizes get additional scoop as complementary. Chose couple of miso shrimp and spicy crab(it was spicy indeed) scoops. Tofu medley was not that great, tough to satisfy vegetarians or vegans. I felt the quantity was overwhelming for one person, small would be more than enough. Priced around $20 for the medium, it's on the expensive side, but the diverse selections make it recommendable. Note that it’s only a to-go restaurant.“
“Hula hoops staff happily accommodated our large group of 14 on a rainy Saturday night at a very last minute request. They have offered 1000/10 service to the group despite a full house, and have provided amazing food and drinks! Hands down amazing fusion of hawaiian and filipino food.Their drinks are 10000/10!!!“
“Stumbled upon this spot because my girlfriend and I were looking for a quick take out place. We found parking really close and ordered through a tablet. We got our food in 15 minutes! We got the spam musabis, chicken katsu and bbq chicken plate and the short rib chicken bbq plate. The portions are huge and the service was really nice. They also gave us a stamp card so after ten orders you get one for free! Definitely will be coming back.“
“It was a rainy day when I walked into this restaurant. Almost felt like actually being in Hawaii in a way. The host gave us an friendly aloha and we sat down. We noticed the decor definitely had the "tiki" vibe. This place has all the Hawaiian food you would normally find inside the 48 contiguous states. I didn't anything like poi, which is more of an acquired taste but you're more likely to find that in Hawaii. I got Loco Moco and my fiancèe Guava Steak. For the appetizers, we got the spam musubi with eggs. I preferred the Guava Steak over the the Loco Moco. Not that they're comparable dishes but it's more suited to my taste palate. It was more juicy. Not that there was anything wrong with the Loco Moco, it tasted great. But I ate it many times at other restaurants, it didn't really stand out to me. If you're just looking for Hawaiian vibes with food, this is a good place to check out.“
“Food: 4.3/5 best bang for your buck here! i can tell that this hole in the wall is a place where lots of blue collar workers come in and out of to pick up a quick and filling lunch for a great price. we got the Loco Moco and the Teriyaki Mixed Plate Lunch and they both hit the spot. the char on the Teriyaki Mixed Plate was delicious and plentiful. the loco moco was good but the gravy tends to make the entire plate soggy so if they had dividers in their to go containers that would be ideal. both plates were hefty big boys that were able to feed us for two meals because we couldn't finish it on the first round. the worker was nice enough to move the table and let me see their drink selection because he saw I was leaning and squinting towards them to read the labels haha. overall, a great meal for a great price in SF(coming from a broke college student)“
“The chili fried chicken was awesome, and the mochi cake was mind-blowing! The people were all so nice, and it was fun chatting with the other people there. The general store is so fun to shop at, and we totally stocked up on goodies! Can't wait to go back for shave ice as it was too cold for it when we went. FYI, portions are huge, we had gone for late breakfast and had more than enough for dinner!!!!“
“Very strange experience. I ordered the Ohana Supa Bowl with bbq chicken. It was the same exact thing as a plate.. just served in a bowl. It wasn't prepared differently. This chicken was not diced differently. It was 3 or 4 bbq'd whole chicked thigh fillets with 2 scoops of rice and heaping portion of mac salad. Why is this on the menu?Edit: the food item was not bad, it was merely confusing. Maybe if it was called a small plate I would have been less confused.“
“Been coming here for years and this place is still the best Hawaiian food in the area. You get the best bang for your buck here. Prices have gone up which is to be expected but the portions have never changed. You still get a whole lotta food that can feed you for more than one meal. Recently, I ordered the chicken Katsu regular plate with all mac salad, we had rice at home. This plate fed myself, my 3 daughters n there was still some left to pack for the hubby's lunch for work the next day. I love that the chicken isn't too beaten, it's still very meaty and not flat at all. Fam favorite for sure. Party trays are amazing and a good deal as well. Definitely coming back. I hope this place never leaves. It is a mom & pop shop and they do only take cash so be prepared. If you're ordering for party trays, be ready to pay in full prior to pick up. But it's definitely worth it.“
“Friendly staff. Huge portions that taste terrific. You can ask for less rice and more macaroni salad on the plate lunches. Have bought take out plates of the Chicken Katsu and each one served 2-3 people. Love the Pork Lau Lau & the kahlua pork, offered with or without cabbage. The only thing they lack is island deserts. They have boxes of imported cookies.“
“Came here for a late lunch and ordered thr katsu bowl ($8.95+tax) and the bbq traditional combo ($15.45+tax) - pretty good value for the price! The katsu was fried quite well for a fast food place - crispy outside, and not too dry inside. The sauce that came with it was tasty as well. The bbq combo had one kalbi rib, 3 pieces of bbq chicken and several large slices of thin beef- everything was seasoned thoroughly. The thin beef was a little dry, but still tasted pretty decent. There was rice and macaroni salad and some lettuce on the side as well. This is a great meatlover’s dish!Parking: Parking lot is rly busy due to the In and Out right across from it… traffic from there can back up to this parking lot“
“This restaurant is located in the Mission Plaza Shopping Center. There's plenty of parking. They share the parking lot with Lucky's, Jollibee, Red Ribbon Bakery, Iguana Taqueria, and Starbucks. When my wife and I entered this restaurant, we were greeted by a friendly cashier. We ordered the mixed BBQ combo plate, musubi trio, BBQ chicken plate, and the Kuala pork with cabbage. The mixed bbq combo plate consisted of bbq beef ribs, bbq chicken , bbq beef. The meats were cooked to perfection. They were all tender. They trimmed off the fat , which we really appreciated. The musubi trio consisted of spam, BBQ chicken, and chicken katsu. They were all flavorful. The Kuala pork with cabbage was kind of on a little dry side. The restaurant was clean and the service was great. The cashier told us that the orders would be ready in 15 minutes and they only took about 12 minutes. They were generous with the portions and the prices were reasonable. The food was still hot when we got home. We will definitely be back to try their Loco Moco, healthy plates, and Saimin.“
“I like this place. Basic, no frills, Hawaiian BBQ. My favorite is the Shrimp Noodle soup. Large bowl of veggies' shrimp and super hot broth. Noodles on the side in the to go orders. Such nice noodles. Cooked perfectly so they finish cooking when you add them to the hot broth. Highly recommended. All of the other Hawaiian BBQ dishes also on the menu. Not much on atmosphere though.“
“The now go to place as the Serramonte hawaiian food place shut down. This one has a good selection of food and the quantity of each order can easily be saved for left overs or shared. There is an open sauce bar and the general vibe is eat quick and leave. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but not a real sit and chat beyond eating kind of vibe in the place.Parking: The lot around the restaurant is tight, especially as it is a little nook around H&R block... but the rest of the parking lot is open and available, just a small walk.“
“Nano's is a happy place in a beautiful part of Half Moon Bay. I came hungry and left happy with their signature BBQ chicken and my friend had the garlic shrimp. When we learned that they were in fact out of shrimp, Nano himself brought in a fresh bucket of prawns and cooked them to order. The atmosphere calms the nerves and relaxes the mind.“
“Surprised at how good the food was. We tried this place many years ago after a trip to Hawaii expecting it to be the same as we got in Hawaii. I remember at that time we didn't return because it wasn't the same (probably not surprising). My son said he wanted to go here for dinner and I reluctantly agreed. This time I enjoyed the food and liked the reasonable price. I got the "BBQ beef" and want to go back for the chicken katsu. I didn't have the same expectation about the food that I did with our first visit many years ago. Whatever type of food (cooking style) is served at L&L it's tasty in its own right.“
“Surprisingly good, great portions. The crew was friendly and interactive I am in the food gameand i always let them remember you in a positive demeanor. Just like the associate's did here at Poke House. Thanks for the positive vibes, great food, and a full stomach. See you soon. Chef Nitty. ???“
“While there's an L&L much closer to me here in Daly City, I find myself going to this particular branch the most. The dining area itself is spacious, and it's almost always empty when I arrive as I usually eat lunch early. My usual is the Mini BBQ Chicken Plate, complete with the requisite chicken, macaroni salad, and white rice (short grain sticky, of course!). A mini plate is oftentimes more than enough for me, so much so that I forego dinner in the evening. This L&L is cash-only, so be sure to hit the ATM on your way here. I think there's an ATM, but save yourself the additional service fee by going to your bank's first.“
“Good fish. Good sauce. Only feedback is that if we do half rice have salad, it'd be cool if they were half and half rather than salad under hot rice. We ordered delivery and it was solid. Will order light mayo on musubi next time as well.“
“Hawaiian Drive Inn isn't just a restaurant; it's a gathering place for families, friends, and anyone seeking a taste of Hawaii's vibrant culture. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, allowing you to savor your meal at your own pace, whether you choose to dine in or enjoy your meal in the comfort of your car.“
“Levi's Stadium plaza on Thursdays. If one is craving musubi, it hits the spot! Have other creative selections to choose from, but opted for the traditional spam tamago musubi. The rice lacked the stickiness like Hawaii would have it and sauce a bit lacking. Other than that, solid.“
“One of the most delightful meals in recent memory, thanks to the warm and attentive staff at Tuna Kahuna. We came in for Chef’s Table Night and enjoyed yummy dishes you’d expect to see at $$$$ restaurants at reasonable prices. We even brought our baby (we’re new parents) and they were very accommodating. This restaurant serves quality food, no frills. Can’t wait to go back!“
