“Yummy, creative food! Only thing I didn’t like - we had reservations for the patio at 8:30 PM. When we got there they told us that they stopped seating outside. We had initially opted for the patio, because we knew that it was pretty loud inside and we wanted to talk (my friend and I). Begrudgingly we accepted the table indoors. Shortly before we left, around 9:45 - they started seating people on the patio. I felt not taken seriously, to be honest.“

“It's been over 10 years since I first ate at this location. Every time we come here the service is always the best. We've been here over 50 times and never once had bad service. Never had mediocre service. Not even good service. It has ALWAYS been excellent!
The food is also delicious. Their pizzas are awesome. I like to try the different items on the menu, if it doesn't have the God forsaken brussel sprouts.
They have good cocktails and the bartenders are also excellent!“

“Food was excellent! Flat iron steak was done med rare as ordered. Chicken with cranberry sauce and brussels sprouts was perfect. The delicious apple/caramel bread pudding definitely enough to share. The atmosphere is an older converted garage but it is well worth going for the food!

“Pretty average hotel. Giving it 4 stars given it included breakfast and happy hour. The bartenders and omlette maker were excellent and friendly. Other breakfast staff seemed less than thrilled to be there but overall went about their tasks and kept out of guests way. The rooms could definitely use some updating and the layout was quite awkward being right next to the stairwell. The room felt cramped and the bathroom small to maneuver in. Not sure if all rooms were that way but I'd suggest a different room. The hotel was reasonably close to some restaurants and easy enough to get around the area. Overall not a bad stay.“

“Went for dinner on a Saturday night. Great gin cocktail and the shrimp and grits was excellent. It’s a perfectly-sized restaurant inside and picnic tables and umbrellas outsides surely great for brunch. The service was friendly and attentive.

Post St. itself is a mangy but keep faith until you get to the front door—worth it.“

“What a freaking gem. This spot gives off serious LA or NYC vibes right in the heart of downtown SJ. The decor alone deserves a shoutout: stunning tall ceilings, gorgeous wood and metal accents, natural tones, and even a couple of olive tree centerpieces that ties it all together in a sleek, contemporary way. If you need a date night spot, try to lock in a reservation here.

The elevator bar is probably one of the most unique features I've ever seen, shuttling bottles of liquor from the downstairs bar to the loft bar. The loft area wasn't open yet, but I could already picture it being the perfect place to pre-game and soak in the energy from the restaurant below.

The food is dialed in. New American with a Mediterranean twist. The open kitchen concept is a nice touch, letting you watch your dishes as they're being prepared. Highly recommend ordering family style to share. The octopus is an absolute must--tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The lobster pasta was decadent - pricey, but you get huge chunks of lobster that makes it worthwhile. We also ordered the monster ribeye topped with some insane butter, cooked medium rare. If you have a group of 4 or more, do it.

The drinks were fantastic, though more subdued in flavor compared to their other concepts like Paper Plane or Mini Boss. I'd recommend dinner at Eos & Nyx, then cap off the night with a cocktail at one of their other bars.

This is a game-changer for downtown SJ. It really reminded me of Bavel in downtown LA, one of my favorite restaurants ever. Excited to see this place finally open!“

“I’ve eaten here twice with a wide sampling of dishes and Devine is absolutely mind blowing. Their mixtures of flavors is truly a beautiful form of art……and I don’t think I’ve ever said that about any restaurant! Goat cheese and caramel? It’s now a go to for our own charcuterie board at home……Herb infused brittle and cheese? I need to have more! It is truly perfection! Last night we enjoyed their four course meal (i highly suggest two people get their own and split, there’s two choices for the salad/soup, main, and dessert, you don’t want to miss out on anything!). Every bite we took had us stop in awe. Devine is a gem! We even loved that the employees/owners come with laughs and personality. It’s a fun and light environment that added so much more to our experience. As the place got busy, our waiters didn’t waver in his attention for anyone! “Loma Brewing was an awesome place to have our party. Their food was delicious, the space was fabulous and the staff were incredible. They were so easy to work with and made the planning and day of so easeful. I felt so supported. I highly recommend them for events and also just a night out!

“Sometimes they do not know how to properly construct a sandwich and instead of putting the spreader sauce on the bun they put it directly on the protein causing the sandwich to slide all over the place. How they present their sandwiches is inconsistent“

“We wanted to spend our Father's Day Brunch Shepherd & Sims, but a lot of the time we were searching for a server for our table. Not sure why, but the server took a long time to arrive at our table. We felt ignored. Finally someone in a suit (looked like the manager) stopped by to pour water into our water glasses, and said, "Let me get you a server." When the server arrived it took a long time for us to get our drinks. My father-in-law asked for some coffee. He had to get another server to get him the coffee, and when he did, it was cold, diluted, and it was obvious that it was the last 8oz from that coffee pot. The assigned server then got another pot of coffee and it was fine after that. We also had to ask twice that we wanted a side of mustard for my father-in-law's burger. It all ended up being okay, but we felt ignored for the most part. We love the food at Shepherd & Sims, but wish that the topic of conversation wasn't about the lukewarm service. Bummer.“

Cool atmosphere, plenty of standing and sitting room both indoors and outdoors. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable of their drinks both on/off menu if fairly good. However, a few cocktails were either extremely sweet or extremely sour to the point of them being barely drinkable.“

And the flourless almond cake with pineapple and vanilla gelato also delicious. They focus on fresh, quality ingredients. Well done!“
