“It’s surprisingly hard to find great brisket in the west San Fernando Valley, so discovering Slab at Topanga Social felt like stumbling onto a hidden gem. I’ve tried a lot of barbecue spots across LA, and this is one of the few that truly gets brisket right. The meat is incredibly tender, with a deep, smoky flavor that doesn’t overpower. The bark is seasoned well, slightly crisp, and full of flavor, with just the right amount of fat running through each slice.

Every time I go, I tell myself I’ll try something new, but I always end up ordering the brisket again. I don’t even browse the menu anymore. It hits every time. That level of consistency is rare, and it’s what keeps me coming back. I wish I could comment on the rest of the food, but honestly, I’ve never made it past the brisket. That should tell you something.

The setup inside Topanga Social makes it easy to grab your food and find a spot to hang out. The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and the vibe is casual, but the quality of the food feels like it belongs in a more traditional, dedicated barbecue joint.

If you’re in the area and craving real brisket done right, Slab is absolutely worth a visit. It’s become my go-to BBQ spot in the valley without question.“

“We've been coming to the Bear Pit since I was a kid (so decades now). We always get the bbq brisket sandwich on garlic toast which is tasty with the delicious bbq sauce. Over the years, the magic has somewhat disappeared, but it's still a reliable bbq spot!“

“I came here in the midafternoon. It was completely empty.

The server, was helpful. I chose, instead of getting the all you can eat option, I ordered ala cart.

I got the chicken with mixed veggies, fried rice, hot and sour soup and an iced tea.

The soup came out first. It was really, really good hot and sour. The flavors were balanced and you could tell that someone put care into the preparation. Note that they only serve a two-person portion, so I had to take some home.

The the fried rice and the chicken/veggies came. Also really tasty. The chicken was cooked perfectly.

I appreciate small, family run places. The entire meal just hit the spot. I'll definitely be back.“

“We stumbled upon this restaurant when our original plan fell through. I'd seen videos of Korean fried chicken, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Wow! The food was delicious. I ordered the Honey Garlic and Soy Garlic wings. I thought the Honey Garlic was better. I also really liked the French fries. I'm definitely going back and can't wait to try the Secret sauce. 8 pieces is plenty for 2 people. Even as leftovers, the chicken stayed crunchy 😋“

“Food is really good and fast service. All the service staffs are courteous and proactive. They'll even pack the left overs for you to go. Sodas are all canned (no fountain). The place is kind of old but they still manage to keep it clean and neat. You need to sign to queue (dont wait for someone to reserve your table). Overall this is our go-to for Chinese food cravings.“

“This is hands down one of my favorite kbbq spots. The food is great, no frills, just good meat and sides. My favorite thing about this place has to be the service. We arrived at 8pm on a Saturday, and there was no wait! We had three different servers attending to us this evening, and they checked in on us constantly, making sure we had everything we wanted. And they're fast and so friendly! Another great bonus is that the overhead vents are so strong, I never feel gross and oily after eating here like I do with other kbbq spots.“

“This dude is super chill and the meats are superior. The brisket burger is MASSIVE and quite tasty. If you're not that hungry the boiled ramen eggs are the ticket. He boils them just right with the slightly runny yolks and the ramen seasoning makes them incredibly delicious. The macaroni salads are also a good side to consider. Pete posts up at the Naughty Pine Pub in Westlake Village on Sundays and it is worth the trip there. Either get some ramen eggs to go or order a burger and grab a beer inside the pub. Pete is very friendly and knows his craft quite well!“

“Very good Filipino food feels like home! Grill City is very affordable compared to other Asian and Filipino restaurants that I tried. The supermarket attached has a great selection of Asian products and I found some of my favorites from back home.

The staff at Grill City in North Hills particularly is very friendly and respectful; they’re always smiling and happy to assist when I need it, and they provided great service. I definitely recommend this place!“

“I really enjoy their bbq combos, side dishes, and soybean stew. But when you're not there to get the bbq combo, they usually sit you off on the other side of the restaurant. My party and I had to wait quite a while for the waiter to take our orders when on the non grilling side. And they don't check on you once your order arrives. I ordered the bulgogi, which was pretty pricy and the portion size was really small. I'd go only got the bbq.“

The food is amazing, I went to celebrate my son's graduation here they took care of every one in our party( 11 in total) is very different from other Korean BBQ Restaurants I've visit, I feel I enjoyed the food more, is a very small place but the experience make it worth the lack of ambiance.

I don't know how much is for each individual plate because I had 11 people in my party and we just ordered until everyone was satisfied but it was worth every penny.
The serves make sure you get everything you need, I ordered the marinated beef it was very juice, they lack on variety of choices but it still gives you the whole Korean bbq feel, they provide you with onions, jalapenos and garlic per request, also their salad is AMAZING. It is it not luxurious as other BBQ places.
I still find the meat on this places a much better quality than other Korean BBQ places., I will definitely be coming back.“

“Visited Surajang for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We ordered bulgogi, beef brisket and beef short rib. All the meets were delicious and perfectly seasoned. The sides and apps were all fantastic especially the Korean pancakes. Service was pretty great. Well attended to and the grill was changed between orders. Everything was very clean.
