“My mom & I visited just the other day for a quick 3 day weekend in Monterey & Carmel-by-the-sea & just casually walked right on into the Shale Canyon Wine tasting room
& couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing & informative tasting experience! We unfortunately didn’t get the name of the extremely kind woman behind the counter but she more than made our experience memorable & magical and we hope to be back in the future to try more wines!“

“My husband and I had the pleasure of hosting our wedding welcome drinks here. De Tierra went above and beyond to make our evening special, even offering to print a sign out on our behalf, showcasing a slideshow of photos of us, and letting us select the music that was played. They were flexible with our guest count given we didn’t collect RSVPs for this event and the wine was absolutely delicious. Everybody had a wonderful time and this was an amazing way to kick off our wedding weekend! Thank you all so much for your kindness and hospitality!“

“This adorable shop in Carmel by the Sea, had room for our party of 8, a friendly hostess and a lot of history of Silvestri, known for music in many many well known films. Locals stopped in to pickup wine for dinner. They have a reasonable wine club and waived fees if you bought some. Oh, and their Pinot is really good!“

“Lepe Cellars was the highlight of our day of wine tasting. It’s a small bar tucked into a shared space with an art gallery, which adds a unique and relaxing vibe. You’re welcome to wander and enjoy the art between pours. The woman who helped us with our tasting was incredibly kind, friendly, and attentive. Her warm energy and genuine conversation made this stop stand out above all the other tasting rooms we visited. Great wine and even better hospitality.“

“We had the most wonderful evening at folktale, the food and wine were delicious and service from Maudi and nick were second to none. They looked after us so well and their knowledge and recommendations were spot on everytime! If you’re in the area this winery is a must! We will be back 🙌🏻“

“This is a beautiful & charming winery nestled in carmel-by-the-sea. We landed on the really delicious Rose which has won the best Rose in Monterey county for the past 13 years. Sarah was our pourer who was super fun to be with, we shared many stories and just is a great person to get to know and hang out with. They also have a bathtub in the wine room that you can have a photo in which is very unique. The outside fire pit table is perfect for the sometimes chili days in caramel when the fog is around or in the winter time. Especially love the breadsticks and nuts that she gave us along with our wine. The Pinot noir that we tried was excellent and was very smooth, complex with a variety of tasting notes, little bit fruit forward and a very drinkable everyday wine.“

“I've lived in the area a while now and finally found this great winery tasting room! The staff was super friendly and the wines were very good. I especially liked the Pinot Noir, I have a weakness for a good Central Coast Pinot! I also enjoyed the Grenache and Barbera. We tried a charcuterie board which paired very well with the wine, the spiced pecans were amazing. We will be back!“

“Took some friends here for a wine tasting, the woman servicing us was so informative even though we knew absolutely nothing about wine. Even taught us some tricks on smelling both ends of the glass! I wish I could get the membership since all the wines were lush“
