“I frequent this place because it is nearby and is one of the few places still open later at night past 9pm when I am off work. I like that there is a good balance between the ingredients, and the salmon always tastes fine. I recommend large because that is enough food for 2 meals, so you get a much better deal for a few dollars more.
It's also really nice to be able to use the paper to choose your order, that way there is no anxiety about taking too long to order or holding up a line. I've never even seen a line here, maybe because I come late night.
There's always an empty parking spot or multiple spots right in front, so it's super quick too. I think it's because of how quickly the staff makes the bowls and from how you order by writing on paper, so nobody has to wait long.
The staff always seem pretty nice, friendly, and patient.
So in my frequent times here, I've never had a bad experience.

“The first couple times I had the salmon, ikura and cured egg I enjoyed the meal, especially the cured raw egg was a nice touch and loved it. Then I ordered hamachi which I enjoyed less. It was chopped up in chunky pieces and it wasn't poke, it looked very unappetizing, tasted a bit sinewy, and would not order it again. I prefer properly sliced sashimi over a bed of nicely seasoned rice. I always takeout late and so the ambience did not stand out. The service is generally good, other times the staff appears to have little energy. I'm happy that they are relatively close to Inner Richmond District but the parking is impossible. I love the pics of the pup.

“Hawaiian Drive Inn is a good place to get cheap food. The portions they give are so big, mainly because of the rice plus lots of meat, and the food is delicious. I hot the BBQ short ribs plate, and I enjoyed eating it. They only accept cash. The service is friendly. I will certainly be back in the future.“

“The woman that took my order was really nice. The price was standard for a lunch, I got the chicken katsu plate, it was 12.50, so pretty standard. It was really good even tho i had like no appetite. The shop was kinda dirty but its not like I has eating there.“

“I ventured the far 15 minute walk from my office to try this place out since it has such high ratings, and honestly wasn’t let down. this place has very fresh and flavorful fish. I usually go to the Benito Poke food truck, but I really like that this establishment is traditional in being able to customize your own bowl. During the lunch rush it was a little overwhelming in the small space and I felt a pressure to move faster since everyone was trying to get lunch, but i needed some time to read all the toppings since it my first time there. The staff was nice to not push me to go faster. I do wish they had a bit more drink selection but overall, the food was delicious and I will be back!“

“I ordered the short ribs plate lunch. It was a good amount of food for the price. Great for that meat and carbs "stick to your ribs" kind of meal. The food came out after a few minutes. It was fresh and hot. The service was friendly but not overly so. They put the food in takeaway containers and a bag as the default, which I always think is a bit wasteful, but in this case it was too much food for one meal and I had to take some home anyways. All in all they do the basic Hawaiian plate lunch well and I would back. Next time I'd try the seafood combo or family meal when I am with someone.“

“I like this place. Basic, no frills, Hawaiian BBQ. My favorite is the Shrimp Noodle soup. Large bowl of veggies' shrimp and super hot broth. Noodles on the side in the to go orders. Such nice noodles. Cooked perfectly so they finish cooking when you add them to the hot broth. Highly recommended. All of the other Hawaiian BBQ dishes also on the menu. Not much on atmosphere though.“

“The food here is awesome. Don't sit around in the place, it's like a fast food restaurant in person: bleak and no one cares what it looks like. All you need to do is pick up the food! The chicken katsu was great and the meat medley/combo dish. Love this!



Parking: There's an in n out right next to it and the line was out of the parking lot (insane). That blocks off spots to park but we parked anyway and people were very accommodating.“

“I loved this ramen! I got the standard pork ramen and it was fantastic. I struggle finding Japan like ramen in SF and felt this was comparable to the ramen I got in Japan. I was able to walk in on a weeknight and was seated right away. The bowl came out quickly. Great service.

“Relatively clean location. Staff were friendly and patient. When I called I to order, the staff who answered provided a very accurate estimate on when food would be ready. Definitely recommend calling ahead of time if you're going to do takeout.“

“Really solidly good Hawaiian food. I had family visiting from France who wanted to try Hawaiian food and they loved it! Especially high praise coming from Parisians used to amazing restaurants. It's a small place and nothing fancy but the food is really, really good. If you haven't been, you should definitely try it!“

“The Poké bowl is one of my favorite meals, and this establishment is hard to beat. The fish and vegetables are fresh, and for a change, start with noodles or greens for a base to avoid the bland rice base. Portions are generous and worth the price. The service is also excellent.“

Wheelchair accessibility: They have special parking for wheelchairs customers, I never used one but I see signs and people using it.“

“One of the best Hawaiian BBQ in town. They have so many options and good portion sizes. Even non bbq items like burgers, spam musubi, potstickers etc... also the katsu chicken is incredible! If you go and say “Wesley” recommended this place! Maybe they give you a little bigger piece of meat! They work really hard to please the customer so please show your appreciation as well.“

“The lady serving me kindly helped me choose gluten free items by crossing them out from the menu as I'm celiac. I had a tune poke bowl and it was very nice. Unfortunately only one of the sauces is gluten free (honey & avocado) but still better than nothing! The ambience is nothing to write home about, more of a take out place.

“Fresh ingredients, exciting menu with options you won't find anywhere else, and friendly staff that doesn't make you feel stupid while you're trying to figure out how to fit all those delicious options together! It would be nice if they had a liquor license so I could indulge in sakebola with my pokebola but they do have a lot of other beverages to choose from and water is free.“

Har Gao, with water chestnut in filling — a nice textural touch. Pork and Shrimp Siu Mai, chunks of shrimp make for a nice crunch. Steamed Pork Buns, on the sweet side, but meaty with minimal fat.“
