“I was a JA kid in the 80s and 90s. After CYC basketball games and Tamiya Mini 4WD races, my family would head to the third floor of Yaohan and enjoy the great flavors of Hana-Ichimonme. “Los Alpes has always been there for me on hot summer days. Their ice cream and revueltos are extremely satisfying. I always take a box of a dozen paletas to go for my family at home. The service is quick and the staff are knowledgeable. The only downside is the location, there is never any street parking which has certainly turned me away sometimes. Sometimes you get lucky and find parking. 9/10 do recommend and support local businesses!“

“Definitely the place to be on Sunday fun day! If you miss home in Hawaii, you'll feel like you are home not just because of the ono food but the incredibly courteous and caring staff. I drove up from Orange County and, the moment I walked in, I was greeted with an ALOHA and watched the place get packed. It was a perfect place to meet up with friends! Spam & eggs with rice for breakfast hit the spot. Malasadas are fresh and warm! Then they added live musicians playing Hawaiian music and I didn't want to leave. Highly recommend and plan to return again!“

“When I first got there it was kinda dirty on the outside but I think it had to do with the teens outside. The workers were nice and it was quick. My favorite part was everything felt homemade. She gave us our prices on a calculator and we payed through her phone. She asked if we wanted ice cream in a box and it was a cut out Oreo box. Some people may not like this but it felt like they used what they could easily access. Also the ice creams were good. My picky sister who only wanted McDonald’s enjoyed it. I am writing this on the way back in traffic because the road was shut down and we can’t leave. Supposed to give my brother ice cream but it will probally be melted when I have back home late.“

“The restaurant on the third floor that used to have mariachi shows is boarded up and closed. They been closed since the Covid shutdown. Everything else is open. There is still plenty of food and small booths selling leather goods, makeup, piñatas, traditional Mexican dresses and shirts, and lots more.“

“I have been coming here for multiple times, but this business is something else like they are very passionate in making their stuff and serving their customers. For example, their esquite is very refreshing and not very soggy and their blend ice and raspados are very delicious and tasty like they use fresh ingredients and taking their time to serve the best for their customers. I forgot to mention that it is a family business, but the only downside is that they don't accept any card payments or Apple Pay, just only cash to give you a heads up.

I always get an esquite with everything including spice and also a caramel blend ice.“

“This place is not called el Piquin Mexican Grill anymore. it’s called Taqueria La Fogata and since they have changed owners. the food has been so much better and more delicious than ever before. everything on the menu is great especially their chicken that they specialize in. every type of food from breakfast lunch and dinner. “It’s not too often that I stop at a Michoacana store, but this location somehow always manages to serve everything with a positive and enthusiastic attitude everytime I stop by to buy something! Most stores usually have little to not much variety, but this location always has something in store for everyone! It has flavors for ice cream that other locations don’t seem to have. They always try to introduce something new and refreshing that anyone can and will enjoy! Whenever I have entered this store, they always have fresh corn for an esquite or fresh fruit for hot summer days. If you’re looking for something fresh and tasty to eat, while being served by enthusiastic employees, I HIGHLY recommend visiting this store! It’s a must!!“

“Came on a Saturday after dinner time and it was not too crowded when we got there, managed to snag a table easily. However, by the time we left, it was definitely getting crowded and people were standing around waiting for a table.

The signature combo is my go to with the soft grass jelly and chewy taro balls. The desserts here are not too sweet - so if you have a really sweet tooth, this is probably not the place for you. That said, the sweetness level here is just perfect for my asian palate.“
